"Busy? What’s your mother busy with?" Oliver Shaw frowned in confusion, remembering Melody Zachary as someone who always seemed idle, her only activities being playing cards and shopping with other ladies.
"Heh," Felix Shaw chuckled softly, his raised eyebrows carrying a hint of provocation, "You might be amazed if I tell you, my mother, she..." Seeing his father’s expectant face, Felix deliberately kept him in suspense, "She switched careers to become an actress. She’s filming with a crew right now."
"Ridiculous!" Oliver Shaw frowned in displeasure, glancing sideways and saying, "At such an age, instead of enjoying a peaceful life at home, she’s running out to suffer."
"Dad, that’s just not right," Felix Shaw disagreed, shaking his head thoughtfully as he looked at the document in his hand, "Though working with a crew might be tiring, at least my mom is living a fulfilling life and doesn’t have to dwell on her failed marriage all day long."
Being called out by his son, Oliver Shaw felt uneasy and pursed his lips, asking stiffly, "What city is she filming in? What role is she playing?"
"It’s inconvenient for me to disclose the city where my mom is filming, but about the role she’s playing, it’s truly typecast—playing the mother-in-law, betrayed by her husband in her later years..."
Watching his father’s face change color visibly, Felix Shaw stood up from the desk, tapping the document in his hand, saying, "I’ll hold onto this document for my mom, just in case you get carried away and give away the shares when you find another springtime love!"

Vanessa Armstrong was still in the hospital; apart from the caregiver, there wasn’t anyone else around her. She had called Oliver Shaw several times, but her calls were rejected. Unwilling to give up, she eventually called her daughter. On the phone, Seraphina asked where her mother had gone, and Vanessa had to lie about being on a business trip, chatting briefly before asking her daughter to pass the phone to her father. A week later, Vanessa Armstrong was discharged from the hospital and took a cab back to the villa alone. Oliver Shaw was not home but had instructed the housekeeper not to let Vanessa Armstrong stay overnight.
