The man nodded slightly in a very gentlemanly manner, then sat down in the empty seat next to Mia Foster. Together, they looked at the people cheering and partying, took a sip of champagne, then turned to observe Mia Foster. He asked, "Why aren’t you joining in?"
"Oh, too old to dance."
Mia Foster found an excuse for herself. Previously, when she worked here, she danced and partied every year with her colleagues. But this year, she suddenly lost interest. If not for the desolation at home, she might have left the party early.

The man’s jade-colored eyes were full of surprise and amusement. Perhaps, with the very mature appearance of a fair-skinned Western man, the lines on his forehead were clearly visible when he raised his brows. "Sorry, pardon my bluntness, your age..." Seeing Mia Foster’s indifferent demeanor, Steven British raised his brow, nodded apologetically to Mia Foster and then got up to move forward.
Steven, tall and in a well-tailored black tailcoat, appeared even more gentlemanly and elegant, like a noble duke, as he gracefully headed towards the stage.
After taking a deep breath, Mia Foster tilted her head back and drank all the champagne in her glass, then got up and headed to the food area to feed herself with some desserts, so she wouldn’t have to bother with dinner when she got home.
She selected a few small pastries and placed them on a plate, perhaps too focused, she hadn’t noticed the music in the background had changed to a slower tune.
"Miss, would you care to dance with me?"
Steven appeared once more beside Mia Foster, one hand behind his back, the other extended in front, slightly bowing in a gentlemanly gesture towards her.
Turning around somewhat slowly, Mia Foster blinked and smiled as she declined, "Sorry, I..."
Her half-spoken refusal was interrupted by Steven, "Don’t refuse. Gentle sorrow doesn’t belong to a beautiful lady like you. There are many wonderful things in the world, why not face them with an optimistic heart?"

In her surprise, Steven had already taken the plate from her hand, placed it on the long table, then turned and extended his elbow.

The employees who were previously partying had either resumed dancing gracefully to the slow music, or were sitting down to rest, or had gone to the food area.
In the dance floor, Mia Foster was led by Steven in a graceful waltz, the slow-paced steps turning beautifully. Steven’s black tailcoat was formal, while Mia Foster’s office attire, though highlighting her graceful swan-like neck, didn’t quite match the elegance of the dance.
In a corner of the dance floor, Steven slowed down the steps, looking at Mia Foster, the fair-skinned man smiled handsomely, "How’s your mood, feeling much better?"
