Accompanied by the sound of the vase smashing, Serena shouted sharply, inadvertently casting a disdainful glance at Joel Quinn sitting and watching, her voice becoming even more piercing, "Shane Shaw attempted against me, and it’s still a crime. I’m taking this to the end!"
Zoe screamed sharply; the shards scattered everywhere, with a few pieces landing at her feet.
Frightened again by Serena’s cold words, Zoe called out to "Mom," retreating step by step towards Claire Sullivan.
A vase was not enough to frighten her—it was intentionally pretending to be startled before Claire Sullivan.
