Considering that Sutton Jennings might be busy, Ann Vaughn decided not to text him back with thanks and planned to express her gratitude next time they met.
Ann Vaughn couldn’t understand how, in just fifteen minutes of leaving the room, Cyrus Hawthorne had managed to win over her grandparents’ acceptance of him.
And even moved openly into the Viridian Palace.
"What exactly did you say to my grandparents? Why did their attitude towards you suddenly change?" Ann Vaughn eyed the man who had brazenly occupied half of her bed with frustration and couldn’t help but ask.
The man, half-leaning on the headboard while dealing with documents on his tablet, lazily lifted his eyes, "Want to know?"
Of course Ann Vaughn wanted to know. When they first met Cyrus Hawthorne, her grandparents’ attitude at most could be called polite and courteous, with no hint of acceptance or affection.
After she went out and came back, her grandparents were treating him almost like their own son, and when he mentioned staying at a hotel, they were so distressed...
Cyrus Hawthorne looked at her with his narrow eyes and said calmly, "Come here."
She’s not a puppy, ready to come and go at his beckoning.
Ann Vaughn muttered internally, then hurried to the bedside, but before she could sit down, she was pulled over by his strong arms, and she found herself falling uncontrollably into his embrace.
"Throwing yourself into my arms?" Cyrus’s low, teasing voice came from above, and Ann Vaughn, frustrated, pinched his waist.
"Don’t think that because you’re strong you can bully me. I have backing now!"
She said with a bit of pride, puffing her chest, looking as if to say "I’m not afraid of you."
Ann Vaughn’s eyes widened slightly as she gazed at his handsome face moving closer, illuminated by the overhead crystal light.
Just then, there was a knock on the door from outside the room.
"Annie, come to my study for a moment." It was Ian Vaughn’s voice.
"Ah? Okay, just a moment, uncle!" Ann Vaughn secretly rejoiced for a moment, trying to look less delighted as she glanced at Cyrus Hawthorne with a deep expression, "Uncle’s calling me, I’ll go first!"
Saying this, she pushed away his arm resting beside her and scrambled off the bed eagerly.
However, just as she was about to leave the bed, her waist was suddenly tightened.

The room quieted down, with a faint scent lingering in the air.
A petite figure was curled up by the bedside, tightly wrapped in the blanket, refusing to get up no matter what.
The man, well-fed and in a good mood, was obviously more agreeable and patient. Seeing she wouldn’t come out, he directly scooped up the bundle and held it in his arms, leaving her nowhere to hide.
"Still upset? Hmm?" Cyrus Hawthorne pulled down a corner of the blanket, focusing on her embarrassed and furious expression, "Not going to the study?"
"How can I go!" Ann Vaughn glared at him in irritation.
Cyrus Hawthorne raised his eyebrows slightly, his handsome face carrying a soft expression, but his words made people want to punch him.
"Mrs. Hawthorne, it’s your fault for being too enticing. You should reflect on this."
Ann Vaughn jumped up and bit his infuriating lips, mumbling a threat, "You’d better not touch me again!"
