Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again! Chapter 7

"What’s this?" He held the book pretending to be puzzled and asked Audrey Sutton, who was helping him turn on the computer.

Audrey hadn’t thought much of it until she turned her head to see the BL manga he was flipping through, a special edition with explicit content, and immediately lost her composure.

She rushed over and snatched the book back: "Don’t mess with my stuff!"

Shane Warner laughed and looked at her with a strange expression, saying: "So this is your style."

"It’s none of your business! Hurry up and use it and then get out!" After speaking, she quickly scanned her room to make sure there was nothing else he shouldn’t see.

He reached out for a pencil sketch and asked her: "Did you draw this?"

Audrey was unsettled again. If it had just been an ordinary sketch, it would be fine, but it happened to be her practice of human figures from recent times.

It was meant to be art, but she felt ashamed for him to see it, fearing he’d think she was a pervert.

Before she could get over to snatch the sketch from his hand, she heard him say: "Not bad, what major are you studying?"

Audrey answered sullenly: "Animation."

"Not bad." Before Audrey could feel pleased with his compliment, he calmly added: "You still need more practice with human anatomy and proportions."

"I know!" Audrey walked over and hurriedly gathered the practice sheets from the table, stuffing them into the drawer below.

"There’s nothing to be shy about, it’s art, not smut."

"I know!! Do you need the computer or not? If not, then leave!"

Audrey worried that he’d rummage through her things, so she sat by the bed watching over him.

While he used her computer, she nervously feared he’d see the hard-to-find adult anime on her disk drive.

She glanced at the computer screen from time to time, relieved to see he was only using some office software.

"Audrey?"

Hearing her mom’s voice coming from the hallway, Audrey immediately got up to open the door: "Mom, where did you go?"

Hazel Yates looked inside the room without answering Audrey’s question, her expression becoming somewhat complicated.

"Auntie." Shane Warner, unbeknownst to Audrey, had turned off the computer and stood behind her.

After hesitating several times, Hazel finally said: "Shane, I know you two are married now, and some things are unavoidable, but our Audrey is still in school, and her mindset isn’t mature enough yet, so..."

Audrey was confused, not knowing what her mom wanted to say.

"So I hope you both will take precautions, and that the matter of children should wait until Audrey graduates."

"Mom, what are you talking about!"

"There are some things as a mom I still need to find time to teach you properly."

"Mom!"

Shane Warner replied politely with a slight smile: "Auntie, don’t worry, we’ll be careful."

"That’s good, and Shane, you should change the way you address us. No more Aunt and Uncle, just call us Mom and Dad from now on."

"Okay, Mom."

Hazel beamed with joy: "Audrey is still immature, and can be stubborn and playful sometimes with her little tempers, so please bear with her."

"Don’t worry, Mom, Audrey is quite thoughtful."

"Well then, you two carry on, I’ll go prepare lunch and won’t disturb you anymore."

"What do you mean ’carry on’?! He’s just borrowing my computer!"

Seeing her cheeks flush red, the amusement deepened in Shane Warner’s eyes.

She said she married him because she thought it would be fun, and now he indeed finds her quite amusing.

During lunch, Samuel Sutton gave numerous pieces of advice back and forth.

It used to be her mom who loved to nag, but now it was her dad.

However, this time Audrey didn’t feel annoyed, instead, she felt very fortunate.

Her dad wasn’t usually talkative, but deep down he really cared, fearing she’d be bullied after getting married.

Throughout the meal, she also noticed that Shane Warner had a nice temperament.

No matter what Samuel said, Shane responded politely, not showing any signs of impatience with his nagging.

But Audrey wondered, some people appear refined in public, yet in private might have character flaws and resort to domestic violence.

Thinking back, she realized how impulsive she was, how could she have married so recklessly?
