Song Lili looked straight at Wen Nian.
A person who should have died at his hands last night now stood alive before him, his expression unmoved.

Wen Nian locked the door with a flick of his hand. He approached the desk, took off his long coat, and hung it on a nearby rack, loosening his tie and unbuttoning the top two buttons of his shirt, revealing a finely sculpted collarbone.
He did not move towards the president’s chair. Song Lili was now fully on guard against him, constantly wary of his approach.
Wen Nian took a pair of rimless glasses out of a case on the desk and put them on.
Song Lili’s mental fortitude was not as strong as Wen Nian’s. His calm reactions and indifferent actions had already thrown her off balance!
Song Lili had just called out his name when his glance silenced her.

"The frightened one is you, not me."

Song Lili truly found this to be the most laughable joke in the world!
Wen Nian was actually saying, saying he didn’t want to kill her!

"If I want to kill someone, there are a thousand methods more subtle and discreet than that."

Song Lili stared at him dead in the eye, "What are you still arguing for! Do you need to be so hypocritically virtuous?"
Wen Nian’s brows slightly furrowed. His hands in his pockets, his handsome face cold... his inquiries carried not a trace of warmth,
Song Lili truly found this conversation absurd...
She had seen with her own eyes as he and Qu Yu got out of the car, saw Qu Yu throw the detonator into the fire to burn up, heard their conversation, every word and every sentence clear as day!
