My Girlfriend
Gao Qiao endured the discomfort in his body and apologized to everyone. “I’m sorry, I’ve been sitting for too long. My legs are cramping.”
The people in the cinema expressed their understanding.
Ye Yao asked with concern, “What’s wrong? Does it hurt?”
Gao Qiao instinctively shivered upon hearing Ye Yao’s voice. There had never been anything wrong with his body, he was in perfect health! But the moment he wanted to touch Ye Yao, his entire body had gone numb suddenly!
Gao Qiao looked at Ye Yao warily and asked, “Do you have a taser on you?” If she didn’t, why would his body have gone into spasm the moment he touched her?
Ye Yao looked confused. “What are you talking about?”
Seeing that she did not seem to be faking it, Gao Qiao quickly changed the topic. “It’s alright. Just keep watching the movie.” He felt that he might be hallucinating from the pain, but half of his body was still numb and he felt very uncomfortable.
Ye Yao sat back in his chair and was no longer in the mood to watch the movie. She was thinking about Gao Qiao’s cry of pain. No matter what, Gao Qiao was a big man standing over 1.8 meters tall. Admittedly, though, she was only too happy to see Gao Qiao in such a miserable state!
When they came out of the cinema, the sky had darkened. The shops by the roadside had all lit up. Ye Yao and Gao Qiao were walking by the roadside. Suddenly, a girl in front shouted, “Robbery!”
Ye Yao saw a sturdy-looking man wearing a black mask snatching the girl’s backpack and running away. When they heard the shouts of robbery, everyone on the street stood aside. No one dared to stop the man. When Ye Yao noted this situation, she narrowed her eyes and muttered, “Step on a banana peel and fall!”
The robber did not notice the banana peel under his feet. As soon as Ye Yao finished speaking, he stepped on the peel and fell to the ground with a crash. One of his legs, unfortunately, hit a cement kerb by the roadside. The sound of bones fracturing could be heard from afar.
Ye Yao was a little surprised. Why was the effect of the jinx so strong this time? Suddenly, a possibility flashed through her mind. She knew that it was not efficacious to say things that were dangerous to humans and innocent people. However, because she had to save someone in the elevator accident today, the effect of her jinx was very long-lasting. Now, she was cursing the robber. Because he was a robber and endangered the safety of passersby, not only did he fall, but he also broke his leg.
So… could her jinxing ability distinguish between good and bad? If she would try to jinx people and things under normal circumstances, the effect would be smaller. For example, a fall would be a simple fall, but if she was confronting evil people, the effect would be surprisingly great, like the robber before her now! The more Ye Yao thought about it, the more she felt that this could very well be the case!
Gao Qiao shook his head and lamented about how stupid this robber was, slipping on a banana peel! After a while, the police came and took the robber away.
At this point, Gao Qiao’s phone rang. He picked it up. “Okay, I’ll go over first.” After hanging up, he said to Ye Yao, “I have a gathering. It’s very fun. Do you want to come with me?”
Ye Yao didn’t feel like going home to face Huo Buyu’s poker face! How dare he freeze her credit card!
She agreed decisively. “Alright, I’ll go.”
Gao Qiao drove Ye Yao to the bar. There were already many people there, including Shao Xiao, Xu Zhicheng, and Qin Jiao. When Qin Jiao saw Ye Yao coming with Gao Qiao, a look of disdain spread across her face. How classy was this Ye Yao, going around with a man whom she had met for the first time on a blind date.
As Ye Yao and Gao Qiao entered, Qin Jiao pretended not to know them and asked, “Gao Qiao, who’s the beauty beside you? Your girlfriend?”
Gao Qiao gave Ye Yao an ambiguous look before introducing Ye Yao to everyone. “My girlfriend, Ye Yao.”
Ye Yao greeted everyone with a smile. “Hello, everyone. I’m Ye Yao.”
Everyone present knew what Gao Qiao was like and his attitude towards women. Even if he said so affectionately now that Ye Yao was his girlfriend, it may not be true the next second.
Shao Xiao asked, “Where’s Huo Buyu? Isn’t he coming too? Why isn’t he here yet?”
Qin Jiao immediately replied excitedly, “Huo Buyu is already on his way here. He’ll be here soon.” As she spoke, she even glanced at Ye Yao smugly. Gao Qiao had already introduced Ye Yao to the people here that she was his girlfriend. She was just waiting to see how Ye Yao would clean up the mess when Huo Buyu would arrive later! She didn’t believe that after Huo Buyu found out how promiscuous a woman Ye Yao was, he’d still want the girl!
