What she was concerned about was not about the broken marriage arrangement, but about the potential alliance she had intended to establish. If she could marry Chaoyan to the son of the officer of the Ministry of Revenue, maybe her son’s position could be promoted. Even other men of the mansion, like Yunhe and Yuxuan might be able to get some benefits.

She stopped the tears from dripping, then she nodded constantly. “Okay, okay, that sounds great.”

“The deceased can’t revive, so we have no choice but to drop the marriage arrangement. But they have visited us for the marriage proposal, so we have to express our appreciation at their mansion after all.” Madame Gu said, “You can go home now. It is still early, and I can visit them now.”
Gu Chaoyan nodded. She had no intention of lingering at the front yard.
She was in a hurry to check up the fruit trees in the space. So the moment Madam Gu left, she headed back to the Qiong Pavilion.
Qing was preparing the food whilst Sword One was getting the hot water ready. As she was alone, Gu Chaoyan sneaked into her space.
The moment she entered the space, she could sense the fresh air.
Then she took a closer look around and found that fruits already grew on all of the trees.
Gu Chaoyan was overjoyed.
She had never expected that this space was so legendary that the trees planted there could grow so fast. What was more, Gu Chaoyan found the space getting larger and larger, creating even more vacancy for more planting possibilities.
It seemed that she had to find even more herbs to plant.
Before she left, Gu Chaoyan poured some more magical water into the fruit trees and picked some fruits from the branches.
She would like people to have a taste of what those fruits were like.
She placed the fruits upon the plate in the room.
Qing came in and said, “Miss, the food is ready, come and eat something.”
The words had just been spoken when Qing spotted the fruits on the table.
She looked confused. “Where did those fruits come from? I did not put them here...”
“Maybe Madam Gu got them delivered here. Anyway, Qing, have a taste, they look so delicious.” Gu Chaoyan said.
“Those fruits do look very wonderful.” Qing said and took a bite of the fruit.
“How is it?” Gu Chaoyan asked expectantly.
