After Xia Yinghan left... Silence dominated the room for a long while.
The Empress Dowager did not ask Gu Chaoyan to get up, but left her sitting on her knees whilst drinking her own tea, as if no one was there at all.
Gu Chaoyan did not move an inch. She had been prepared to be embarrassed on the way to the Cining Palace. So she was very calm inwardly, showing no moves at all.
