When Jiang Baizhou went up the stairs, he glanced at him unnoticeably, but did not respond to his words, just lifted his eyebrows. It was unclear whether he was acknowledging or just couldn’t be bothered to respond.
But with Lu Xize’s understanding of him, being looked at with such a gaze likely meant a confirmation. Leaning on the office door, he stopped fiddling with his keychain, crossed his arms, and looked at him with a sly smile: "Hey, when are you going to treat me to dinner?"
"You’ve finally started dating, shouldn’t you treat us to dinner?"
"I got into a relationship on my own merit, what’s it got to do with you?" Jiang Baizhou sat comfortably in the swivel chair, squinting slightly, "How about you treat me instead?"
Hearing this, Lu Xize scratched his ear indignantly and walked in, placing both hands on the desk, looking at him incredulously: "Did you take too much cold medicine the other day and fry your brains? Why should I treat you just because you started dating?"
"Then get out, I need to get busy now." Jiang Baizhou still looked expressionless, without any hint of anger, and after indifferently withdrawing his gaze, he began flipping through a nearby folder, thoroughly ignoring him.

A busy day always goes by quickly. By 5:30 in the afternoon, Cen Jin had nearly finished her tasks, and Ye Lingran had already left at 5:00. Sitting on the sofa, phone in hand, she thought it over and decided to call Jiang Baizhou. After about three and a half rings, the call was picked up, as always with that pleasant low and mellow voice: "Hello!"
"Um... are you done for the day?"
