Cen Jin tilted her head to look at him, "How was I not walking properly?"
Jiang Baizhou shot her a sideways glance but didn’t respond.
The two reached the car, Jiang Baizhou still helping her open the passenger door, gesturing with his eyes, "Get in."
The slanting raindrops tapped against the car window, creating a hazy mist in the night.
Cen Jin propped her head with one hand, and gradually, her eyes gazing at the night scene outside became heavy, and she began to feel drowsy. After struggling a little, she finally couldn’t hold it and fell asleep directly.
Because there was a mistake with the custom wedding dress in the middle, although it was resolved yesterday, she still felt uneasy, got up early, and had been busy since morning without any rest. Except for the ten-minute break during lunch with Ye Lingran, she hadn’t stopped until the evening when she finally took a break. Now, with her body relaxing, she was easily sleepy.
The car stopped at a crossroads, Jiang Baizhou suddenly realized the car was unusually quiet, so he turned his head and saw her head leaning against the window, one hand seemingly weakly propping her cheek, eyes tightly shut, evidently deep in sleep.
Looking at her serene sleeping face, Jiang Baizhou lightly pursed his lips, his grip on the steering wheel relaxed until a crisp honking sound came from behind, snapping him back to reality, restarting the car to move on.
Once the car reached the neighborhood, Jiang Baizhou parked at Cen Jin’s house door, looking at her in the passenger seat, waited roughly three minutes before trying to speak, "Nie Cenjin, we’re here."
But the already asleep Cen Jin didn’t respond, still motionlessly resting against the window.
Jiang Baizhou squinted his eyes, a sly glance flashed in them as he raised an eyebrow playfully, "Nie Cenjin, wipe your drool."
Sure enough, upon hearing that, Cen Jin jolted awake, looking at him bewildered, instinctively raising her hand to wipe her mouth, realizing he was teasing her, she glared at him in annoyed disbelief, "No drool!"
Jiang Baizhou’s lips curved into a triumphant smile, then feigned indifference, turning his gaze away, "We’re here."
"Oh, okay." Cen Jin replied while yawning and unbuckling her seatbelt.
"It’s still raining, remember to use an umbrella." Jiang Baizhou looked at her, his face calm and composed.
"No need, it’s just a few steps." Cen Jin glanced at the light rain outside, waved her hand, then pushed open the car door and got out, not bothering to fuss over his earlier teasing. This man was usually quite dull; occasionally, he’d think of some tricks to tease her. Over the years, she had gotten used to his teasing.
Jiang Baizhou watched from the car, his hand suspended in mid-air, cool lips slightly moved, seeming hesitant to speak, but only after seeing her enter the house, he retracted his hand, a smile brewing in his eyes, starting the car back into his own garage.
Upon arriving home, Miss Yu Hui in the living room immediately questioned, "Weren’t you supposed to come home for dinner? I prepared everything, then you messaged saying you wouldn’t be home, what’s the deal?"
"Plans can’t keep up with changes." Jiang Baizhou lingered briefly in the living room, letting one hand naturally fall into his pants pocket, a calm demeanor with eyes even a bit gleeful, dropped this line and then took his long strides upstairs.
