Summer Shawcross looked up and saw the man with tightly knit brows and an incredibly serious expression.
Footsteps could be heard outside the bathroom.
"Miss Shawcross, are you okay?" Zachary Lockwood’s anxious voice came from outside the bathroom.
Seeing Shawn Lockwood properly standing outside asking, Summer couldn’t help but turn to glance at the man who wouldn’t let go of her, feeling a bit helpless.
This guy is such a creep!
Still, if Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood were to see her tangled up with a man in the women’s restroom, she would be utterly embarrassed!
So she quickly replied.
"I’m fine!"
"As long as you’re okay. There was an issue with the breaker a moment ago, but the power’s back now. You weren’t scared, were you?" Zachary’s cautious voice followed from outside the bathroom.
"Thank you for your concern, I’m fine, I’ll be out in a moment," she instinctively smiled and responded politely.
Her smile made Noah’s face darken again, and his hand around her waist tightened.
Summer winced in pain and shot him a glare.
It wasn’t until Shawn’s departing footsteps were heard outside that she gritted her teeth and spoke, annoyed.
"Let go of me, I want to go out!"
"You still want to go back?" Hearing this, Noah frowned tightly, asking in displeasure.
She wants to go back?
"Of course!" Summer turned her face away in anger, not looking at him.
Noah stared at her for a moment before speaking with restraint.
"Summer Shawcross, do you know what tonight’s dinner means?"
It was obvious, tonight’s dinner was a chance arranged by The Lockwood Family for her and that pretty boy, didn’t she see that?
Noah’s words gave Summer pause; she could actually sense Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood’s intentions to match her with Shawn Lockwood.
If Noah hadn’t come tonight, she would’ve found an excuse to leave early.

She bit her lip, suddenly looking up to meet his icy black eyes.
"You can go find women, why can’t I go back?" she said confidently.
The man said nothing, only pressed his thin lips together, staring at her.
His sharp gaze made her somewhat uneasy; after maintaining the standoff for a few seconds, she backed down, turned her gaze away, then said wryly.
"Mr. Lockwood helped me before, so I came today to return the favor."
She’s not like him, she came here solely to repay Mr. Lockwood’s previous help.
It’s not the same as him playing around with women!
After she finished speaking, Noah’s expression turned cold.
"He helped you, so you must repay him?!"
Just like Dustin Hughes saved her before, so... she repaid him at any cost?
Her gratitude burned him up inside!
"Of course, I am a person with a conscience," Summer whispered.
Noah’s face grew increasingly sullen.
