Bai Hanyun’s eyes lit up at her words, and she said, "I will take that package."
The staff smiled brighter at her words and gestured for her to follow. "Please come this way, Miss."
Just as she was about to follow, Bai Hanyun paused and turned to Hua Yuyu. "Brother Hua, I’m going to change and do makeup. It will take a while. You can grab something to eat first while you wait."
While Bai Hanyun had been speaking with the staff, Hua Yuyu had already scanned the surroundings. Seeing no sign of danger, he agreed. "Alright."
Getting his response, Bai Hanyun smiled at the staff and said, "Please show me the way."
Hua Yuyu waited until Bai Hanyun and the staff disappeared into the changing area, then left the studio. The moment he stepped outside, his expression turned cold, and a sharp glint flickered in his eyes.
Glancing toward the corner of the street, Hua Yuyu spotted two men in casual outfits. Then he looked across the street to an alley and saw four men in black suits, each equipped with communication earpieces.
After observing them briefly, he looked away and walked off calmly.
When the two groups noticed this, they talked among themselves. Moments later, the casual outfit team sent one person to tail Hua Yuyu, while the black suit team dispatched two.
While these men followed Hua Yuyu, the others stayed behind, keeping a close watch on the photo studio from their hidden spots.
Fully aware that he was being followed, Hua Yuyu calmly scanned his surroundings as he walked. Five minutes later, he turned a corner and entered an alley.
Seeing this, the followers quickly followed him in.
Just before they stepped into the alley, the two groups encountered each other. Locking eyes for a few tense seconds, they quickly realized they were on the same mission.
Without exchanging a word, both teams entered the alley, maintaining distance from one another.
Just as they stepped into the dark alley, Hua Yuyu rushed out from the shadows and landed a powerful kick on one of the men from the black suit team, sending him crashing into a wall.
The man groaned as he slid to the ground, clutching his aching back.
One second later, his teammate reacted instantly, drawing his gun. At the same time, the man from the casual outfit team pulled his weapon out from his jacket as well.
Unfortunately, before either of them could react further, cold steel was already at their throats.
Holding two military daggers against their throats, Hua Yuyu coldly asked, "Who sent you? What do you want?"
Realizing they were no match for him, the man in the black suit responded, "I’m not your enemy. My boss sent me to protect Miss Bai."
"Then why were you following me?" Hua Yuyu asked again, pressing the dagger closer to the man’s carotid artery.
Feeling the sting as blood began to seep from his neck, the man quickly replied, "My boss ordered me to keep an eye on you and report your movements."
Hua Yuyu’s brows furrowed at his answer. "Who is your boss?" he demanded coldly.
Seeing no other option, the man answered honestly, "He is the CEO of the Yu Group."
Hua Yuyu raised an eyebrow at the name. ’CEO of the Yu Group? Yu Xiangyu? Why would he want to monitor Miss Bai? Looks like I need to report this matter to Miss Bai.’
Having finished interrogating him, Hua Yuyu turned his attention to the man in casual clothes.
"What about you?" he asked coldly.
With the military dagger still at his throat, the man pinched the dagger lightly between his index finger and thumb in an attempt to push it away.
"Brother, I’m not your enemy either," he answered calmly.
Hearing the same excuse, the black suit man rolled his eyes.
Seeing this, the man in casual clothes shot him a look and sneered, "What? Only you are allowed to say that?"
Not wanting to waste more time on them, Hua Yuyu pressed the military dagger harder against the man’s neck and said, "I still need to buy breakfast. I don’t have time for this. If you don’t answer in three seconds, this dagger is going into your throat."
After saying that, he began to count down, "Three... two... one—"
Before the countdown finished, the man in casual clothes hurriedly said, "Brother, we are from one family!"
Hua Yuyu paused for a beat and asked, "Special Forces soldier?"
The man nodded rapidly, like a chicken pecking at rice.
"Active duty or ex-soldier?" Hua Yuyu pressed.
"Active," the man replied.
"Who’s your captain?"
Since the two could be considered comrades-in-arms, the Special Forces soldier answered honestly, "You probably know him. His name is Lei Jingqian."
Hua Yuyu frowned slightly at the answer. He paused to think for a moment before asking, "Investigation Division? Why are you following Miss Bai?"
The Special Forces soldier glanced briefly at the bodyguard, then turned back to Hua Yuyu and replied, "Secret mission. But we are not here to arrest Miss Bai. We are here to protect her."
After pondering for a while, Hua Yuyu lowered the military daggers from both their necks. He then looked at the Special Force soldier and said, "Explain."
Instead of answering directly, the Special Force soldier turned his gaze to the bodyguard. A second later, Hua Yuyu also looked at the bodyguard.
Feeling the pressure from their stares, the bodyguard felt a chill on the back of his neck. With no other choice, he said, "I will go check on my teammate."
Once the bodyguard left to help his injured companion, Hua Yuyu turned back to the Special Force soldier.
Lowering his voice, the Special Forces soldier said, "I bet you already know we have been investigating the underworld, right?"
