Sensing Hua Yuyu’s tensed body, Bai Hanyun asked in a low voice, "Brother Hua, what’s wrong?"
Standing in front of her, Hua Yuyu replied in a low voice, "I sense a very dangerous aura from those people. They reek of blood."
Bai Hanyun’s eyes flickered with surprise at his words. Though she had never seen Hua Yuyu in action, she trusted his judgment. If he was on high alert, those people must be truly dangerous.
With that in mind, she asked, "Should we leave before they notice us?"
Just when her words fell, Hua Yuyu replied, "Too late. They have already noticed us."
As they whispered, Bai Li’s eyes lit up at the sight of the man leading the group. Quickly adjusting her hair and dress, Bai Li put on her most charming smile and then walked over to block the man’s path.
"CEO Gui, what a pleasant surprise to see you here," she said coquettishly.
Gui Xiaoxu barely glanced at her before coldly commanding, "Deal with it."
At his words, two men stepped forward and grabbed Bai Li’s arms.
Startled by their rough actions, Bai Li cried out in fear, "CEO Gui, what do you mean by this? Let me go!"
"No! Do you know who I am? Let me go!" She struggled hard, but the two men dragged her away with ease.
Unbothered by what just happened, Gui Xiaoxu walked toward the banquet hall.
However, as he passed by Hua Yuyu and Bai Hanyun, something made him pause. He stopped and turned to look at Bai Hanyun, only to find Hua Yuyu blocking his view.
Unable to see past him, Gui Xiaoxu frowned slightly but said nothing. After a moment of silence, he walked into the hall.
After Gui Xiaoxu was far from them, Bai Hanyun let out a long breath and patted her chest. "Oh my god. He is very terrifying."
Hua Yuyu let go of the dagger and then reminded her, "Miss Bai, that man is extremely dangerous. You should stay away from him."
"I know," Bai Hanyun quickly agreed.
Even without Hua Yuyu’s warning, Bai Hanyun had no intention of getting close to that man. His aura was suffocating, and when he passed by them, she could even catch the faint scent of blood from his body.
Watching Gui Xiaoxu’s figure disappear into the crowd, Bai Hanyun made a swift decision.
’No matter what happens, I need to stay far away from that man. He is too dangerous.’
Once she calmed down, Bai Hanyun’s stomach grumbled. She looked at Hua Yuyu and said, "Brother Hua, let’s go get something to eat. I’m starving."
While Bai Hanyun and Hua Yuyu enjoyed the banquet food, Gui Xiaoxu was seated in a private room on the second floor.
Looking down through the glass window, his gaze immediately landed on Bai Hanyun. After a long pause, he said, "I want that woman’s full background within two hours."
Following his line of sight, his right-hand man saw Bai Hanyun and remembered her face.
"Yes, Boss," he responded before walking off to carry out the order.
As his right-hand man left, Gui Xiaoxu continued watching Bai Hanyun with doubt flickering in his eyes.
Forty minutes later, one of the staff members walked up to the podium and announced, "Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. The auction will begin in five minutes. We invite all of our honored guests to proceed to the auction hall."
After the announcement, several staff members entered the banquet hall and guided the guests to the auction hall through a side door.
Stepping into the auction hall, Bai Hanyun looked around and decided to sit in the back rows.
However, just as she took her seat, a staff member approached and said, "Miss Bai, Old Master Yu has prepared a VIP seat for you. Please come with me."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun nodded and followed the staff member.
Five minutes later, the staff member opened the door to a small balcony and said, "Miss Bai, if you need anything, you can press the button on the wall for service."
After the staff member left, Bai Hanyun and Hua Yuyu entered the balcony.
Seeing that the VIP seats were located on a balcony suspended in midair, Bai Hanyun took a seat and commented, "They actually used a design similar to an opera house. This is really nice."
She motioned for Hua Yuyu to have a seat, then glanced down and saw Bai Li with her three followers sitting in a seat located in the middle area of the auction hall.
Clicking her tongue, Bai Hanyun thought, ’Tsk, I thought I could find out what her plan is. Too bad, such a good opportunity was gone before I could get any useful information from her.’
Now that she had missed the chance, Bai Hanyun could only wait for the next opportunity to uncover Bai Li’s motives for getting close to that man called CEO Gui.
While Bai Hanyun sipped tea and enjoyed snacks in the VIP box, Yu Xiangyu spotted her from the VIP section across from hers.
Tapping his fingers lightly on the chair arm, he pondered for a moment before asking, "Assistant Chi, have you found out anything about Bai Hanyun?"
Chi Limin nodded, then took a file from one of his subordinates and handed it to Yu Xiangyu.
As Yu Xiangyu flipped through the file, Chi Limin reported, "CEO Yu, this Bai Hanyun is the long-lost young lady of the Bai family. After the late Chairman Bai brought her back ten years ago, he personally raised her in the Bai family ancestral house."
"Eleven days ago, she was kicked out of the Bai family by her father, Bai Yansheng. From what I have found so far, it was because the late Chairman left all of his wealth to Miss Bai, and Bai Yansheng was unconvinced."
Yu Xiangyu closed the file and handed it back to Chi Limin.
His gaze lingered on Bai Hanyun as he thought for a moment, then asked, "What is the situation with the Bai Group? Have they announced a new chairman or CEO?"
