My bathroom connects to another world Chapter 231

231: Chapter 231: Commissioning a Mage to Research Anti-Magic Spell 231: Chapter 231: Commissioning a Mage to Research Anti-Magic Spell “Anti-Magic?

You actually want a mage to help research Anti-Magic?” Ocoro’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Isn’t that as absurd as having landlords research land distribution, or nobles study how to break through class barriers?

Magic is everything to a mage; without it, what use would a mage be?

“It’s not about wide-scale Anti-Magic, nor is it directed against mages, but on a smaller scale.

Say, haven’t those mages ever thought about nullifying their opponents’ magic when they face off against each other?”

Ocoro pondered for a moment: “I don’t think so, I’ve never heard of such research.

If someone truly researched this kind of thing, they would probably be treated as an outcast.”

Whether he’d be treated as an outcast or not, Zhao Guang didn’t care much; he was only concerned with his own Anti-Magic.

Because he had just realized that his gun didn’t work here, nor did other various technological devices.

But once placed within an Anti-Magic Zone, these things would naturally become usable.

And once they became usable, the productivity unleashed would be terrifying.

As such, many things wouldn’t need to be trafficked from Earth to here anymore, making it entirely possible to achieve self-sustaining production in the Otherworld.

They might not even understand the principles behind these devices, which would render them useless should they be taken out of the Anti-Magic Zone.

“Alright, I can ask around, but I make no promises about success.”

“Go and ask, just tell them I’ll pay them a grand sum, an absolutely grand sum.

Plus, if they figure it out, they might even get really good results when facing their mage enemies.”

Zhao Guang revealed a strange smile, believing that he was possibly opening a big door for them.

Of course, that was if they had truly never conducted such research before.

Ocoro waved his hand: “I don’t even know what to say.

If they think I’m just jesting with them, that’s fine, but it would be bad if they think I’m trying to provoke them.”

“Why would they think that.” Zhao Guang patted Ocoro on the shoulder, finding him quite useful.

So what if he had a fondness for art, or was a bit eccentric?

Couldn’t one tolerate even a friend’s minor flaws?

Suddenly Ocoro seemed to remember something: “Oh right, I almost forgot about this.”

Ocoro ran over to the side, rummaging around for something before handing it to Zhao Guang: “Here, this is a Light Element Warrior Skill I acquired.

It’s only basic, but it’s difficult for the average person to come by.”

Zhao Guang took a look.

The cover was emblazoned with the words Healing Technique, almost making one think it was a spell.

In reality, it was a Battle Skill, albeit a Basic Level Combat Skill.

According to the skill’s description, it was capable of healing others.

The effectiveness of the healing depended largely on the quality of one’s Combat Energy.

In practice, it was probably only able to treat minor injuries.

For anything more severe, it would just be used to stop bleeding.

But for a warrior, being able to stop bleeding and prevent infection on the battlefield was already extremely valuable.

“Isn’t there a way to improve Battle Skills?” Zhao Guang asked.

“Battle Skills and Magic Models are said to be different, but they do have things in common, and it’s said they can be improved.

But as for how, I don’t know.

Warriors generally rely on experience to refine their Battle Skills.”

Relying purely on experience, warriors and mages really are different.

For warriors not adept at summarizing their experiences to have come this far, it’s indeed not been easy.

“It seems I’ll have to study some human anatomy and medicine, maybe even delve into the theory of meridians.

This thing feels like it has something in common with the meridians inside the body,”

Zhao Guang muttered to himself, with no particular idea in mind for the moment.

The basic level combat skills he had learned before were tried and tested, so Zhao Guang hadn’t thought about improving them.

But the spell effect he was now facing clearly gave him such an idea.

“Let’s go, it’s time to eat, the banquet is about to start.”

“Why are you so keen today?

You never used to like these things before.”

Ocoro said proudly, “Of course, it’s to showcase my new art form.

Everybody get up, we are going to show them ‘A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix.'” He then started yelling at the others.

Zhao Guang looked puzzled — where did this come from?

The stuff he brought over didn’t have any text, did it?

It must be a translation issue with the language, resulting in a somewhat similar meaning, he guessed.

Then Zhao Guang witnessed a garishly eye-catching scene: numerous bare-chested men stood up, each with birds painted on their bodies, some large with one bird, others small with several, or even more than a dozen.

A few men even formed a group to create an enormous bird.

This crowd of men spread their arms to imitate the flight of birds while walking in a certain direction.

From a distance, if you didn’t look closely, you might really think a large flock of birds was flying.

But the magnificence of this spectacle from up close could be somewhat hard to accept.

Zhao Guang, with his head in his hands, walked forward, distancing himself more and more from the group, hoping not to be mistaken as one of them.

Before long, a series of astonished exclamations rang out from the banquet square.

Clearly, they had never seen such a large-scale performance before, and it was indeed spectacular.

Then, a roar erupted, the voice of Yars’s: “Dammit, Ocoro, what the hell are you doing?”

“How about that, isn’t it gorgeous?

Didn’t my art scare you?”

“You idiot, do you even know what you’re doing?

You are becoming more and more embarrassing.”

“Nonsense, this is art, great art.

You won’t see such a thing outside; haven’t you thought about how spectacular it would be if the entire city joined in?”

Zhao Guang listened from a distance and then imagined the entire city’s population running around naked.

That’s enough, he thought, I can’t think any further, or it would be a crime.

Sure enough, before long, Zhao Guang heard the sounds of a brawl breaking out, spreading further and further.

Listening to the chaos, he simply decided not to enter, as getting involved wouldn’t be good.

Although he was not weak himself now, he couldn’t guarantee his safety if he got caught in such a situation without using Combat Energy.

But if he did use Combat Energy, it would be like bullying.

So, he might as well stay outside and watch, after all, he was a distinguished guest.

What Zhao Guang didn’t expect was to see Yalugo, who normally never attended banquets, now standing in the distance looking this way.

Looking at the guy’s eyes, no way, he was actually appreciating those bare-bottomed men.
