Lu Qing’s grip tightened, his expression somewhat cold, waiting for her next sentence.
"You’d better... not tell me."
His eyes froze for a moment before his emotions registered, a slight nervousness flickering across his face. "Why?"
Qin Miaomiao turned her head away, but soon turned back, locking her gaze on his eyes and said word by word:
"Because I’d get jealous. I’d feel envious."
Lu Qing was stunned. He hadn’t expected her to say that.
His grip grew even tighter, his face drawing closer to hers. Qin Miaomiao felt as though the air around them had suddenly heated up. Even breathing began to feel laborious.
Qin Miaomiao’s face flushed a deep red. After a moment of silence, she finally spoke again:
"I’m afraid I’d get jealous, feel envious, even..."
His fingers touched her lips, the slightly rough texture carrying a trace of warmth. The intense heat in his eyes seemed like it could burn her.

The two were so close, with his arms tightly wrapped around her, but neither made another move. An odd silence fell over them, until...
Qin Miaomiao couldn’t hold back anymore and broke the silence:

Lu Qing abruptly kissed her hard, his voice low and threatening:
"If you talk again, be careful—I might just take you here and now."
Qin Miaomiao obediently fell silent. Before long, however, she couldn’t resist asking again:
"Could you move your leg? It’s so heavy..."
Instead, Lu Qing pulled her even tighter into his embrace. "Qin Miaomiao, you really have a knack for ruining the mood."

Old Wang didn’t dare to meet his eyes the entire time. Young Master Lu was shirtless and radiating irritation, clearly upset by having been interrupted at such a critical moment. Even though Lu praised his work, Old Wang could still feel a chilling tension on his back—barging in , disrupting Young Master Lu’s affairs, was as good as courting death!
Lu Qing closed the door and turned back toward the bed. Seeing the expression on his face, Qin Miaomiao gripped the bedsheet tightly, looking visibly nervous. She felt like a lamb stripped bare, about to be... something, something!
