"Do I need to be jealous of him? Qin Miaomiao, I can personally show you just how superior my status is."
He whispered this into her ear, the implications of his words instantly making Qin Miaomiao’s face flush red. That damned Lu Qing! He was so possessive, he wouldn’t even let her look at another man!
Meanwhile, Han Shu stood off to the side, frozen stiff, simply observing silently. Ugh!
Madam, whatever you do, don’t fall for his good looks, or else... he’ll meet a gruesome end.
About ten minutes later, the door was abruptly slammed open, and a crowd of a dozen men rushed in with a loud commotion. Song Min’s smug laughter echoed:
"Scared now, aren’t you? If you kneel before me and call me ’Grandpa,’ I might consider letting you go."
Lu Qing gave him a look as though he were an idiot and replied calmly:
"Han Shu, make sure to leave them alive."
Before Song Min could fully grasp the meaning of his words, an agonized scream rang out. He blinked in disbelief, as though watching a martial arts film—there really was someone capable of defeating ten men at once! The sound of bones breaking was audible.
The dozen men who had rushed in were all beaten to the ground, unable to move!
Only then did Song Min realize he was in danger and tried to sneak out. But Han Shu stood ghost-like right in front of him.
"We... we can talk this out. Don’t... don’t resort to violence!"
And then... he got a thorough beating, shaking uncontrollably with fear. Young Master Lu turned out to be this ruthless!
Qin Miaomiao witnessed the violent scene. One of her ribs was fractured, and as she was carried out, she couldn’t utter a single word.
Chen Ran watched the chaotic brawl yet didn’t show any signs of fear. She stepped forward to confront Chen Ran, her voice calm:
"Now, can you take the necklace out?"
Chen Ran’s legs wobbled from fear. There was no hesitation. Panicked, she stammered:
"I’ll get it, I’ll get it."
She disappeared into the bathroom and retrieved the item from the toilet tank. When she handed it to Qin Miaomiao, it was still dripping with water.
Seeing the sapphire necklace had been hidden in the toilet tank, Qin Miaomiao was furious.
Lu Qing spoke coldly: "Han Shu, take her to the police station."
Chen Ran panicked. If she were sent to the police station, her starlet career would end right there.
"Yes, Young Master Lu."
She hurriedly stepped forward, pleading:
"Young Master Lu, I know I was wrong. Please don’t send me to the police station! Young Master Lu, I’m begging you, please forgive me this once, I promise I’ll never do it again."
Lu Qing didn’t even acknowledge her, his eyes void of warmth.
Desperately, Chen Ran turned to Qin Miaomiao, her pleas filled with sincerity:
"Miss Qin, I’ve acted foolishly. Please don’t hold it against me. I’ve already returned the necklace to you. Please don’t send me to the police station, I beg you."
Qin Miaomiao remained unmoved and responded calmly:
"The moment you chose to hide the necklace, you should have known the consequences. I gave you a chance."
Chen Ran froze for a moment, realizing she wouldn’t be let off. She turned frenzied, rushing toward Young Master Lu, attempting to hug him, but he evaded her. She dropped to the ground, tightly clutching his leg.
Using seductive eyes, she looked at him:
"Young Master Lu, please spare me. Don’t send me to the police station. I’ll do anything you want, including..."
She intentionally licked the corner of her lips suggestively, her desire practically palpable—it couldn’t be more obvious.
Lu Qing expressionlessly detached her hands and replied coldly:
"Han Shu, take her away."
Was he really so unfeeling?! Not even seduction worked?
Chen Ran fell into despair, covering her face as she began sobbing. All her resentment was now directed at Qin Miaomiao. The malicious glare she shot her way was filled with hatred deep enough to kill.
