My Billionaire Husband Claimed Me His Precious Chapter 174

Qin Miaomiao cleared her throat twice. "I was just kidding."

Calm him down, calm him down—quick, or she’d have to endure Lu Qing’s frostiness the entire time!

She thought for ages but still couldn’t come up with anything to break the awkward tension. So, in the end... she felt like she’d been stuck in a freezer for half an hour.

When she got out of the car, her legs were trembling a little. Lu Qing stepped down with a frosty face, radiating a "don’t come near me" aura.

Housekeeper Li, leading several servants, welcomed them at the door. This time, their attitude toward Qin Miaomiao was significantly better than last time.

After all, Lu Qing had set a precedent for Qin Miaomiao. Anyone who dared to be disrespectful probably wouldn’t last long in the old estate.

However, this time, Lu Qing and Qin Miaomiao walked in one after the other without exchanging a word. A few people began scheming, like Housekeeper Li. Last time, Qin Miaomiao had embarrassed him so badly, even causing his niece to get kicked out. He hadn’t forgotten this grudge.

Lu Qing headed straight to the study. Old Sir Lu was in pretty good spirits; he’d even amused himself by writing a piece of calligraphy. The ink was still fresh. Seeing the two of them come in, he greeted them with a cheerful smile:

"You’re here! Come quickly and take a look at the piece I just finished. How’s it?"

"Strong and bold strokes—truly reminiscent of Wang Xizhi," Lu Qing replied.

Old Sir Lu laughed heartily at the flattery. "Not bad, my clever grandson knows how to appreciate art. Miao Miao, what do you think?"

Qin Miaomiao gave a thumbs-up and praised him:

"Grandpa, do you even need compliments? This could definitely be a family heirloom. How about this—Grandpa, could you write a few more for me? These could really be treasures to pass down through the generations."

Old Sir Lu burst into hearty laughter. Qin Miaomiao’s obvious brown-nosing left him utterly delighted. He chuckled:

"You little rascal, always buttering me up. If you give the Lu Family a great-grandchild, forget a few, I’ll write hundreds for you."

Qin Miaomiao’s face turned red, and she stole a glance at Lu Qing. How was she supposed to respond to that?!

Yet Lu Qing, this rascal, didn’t help her out at all. Instead, he simply sat to the side and started sipping tea!

"Grandpa, your Da Hong Pao tea is excellent," Lu Qing commented nonchalantly.

"That’s from the Cang Family. Their great-grandson is already two years old. Then there’s some top-grade Tieguanyin from the Yun Family—they just had a grandson last month. And the Li Family, who delivered red eggs a few days ago. Those old geezers can’t stop flaunting in front of me, like they’re afraid people don’t know. It’s so annoying!"

Though Old Sir Lu pretended to grumble, he was clearly dropping hints about having kids. Qin Miaomiao felt her head about to implode.

Lu Qing’s lips curved slightly, and he said in a calm tone:

"Miao Miao, did you hear that? You need to work harder."

What the hell—this guy just threw her under the bus!

"Having a child isn’t exactly a one-person job," she shot back. "If anyone needs to work harder, it should be you."

Lu Qing gently placed his teacup down and stood up unhurriedly. "So, Miao Miao thinks I haven’t been putting enough effort in."

Why did that sound... so off?

Old Sir Lu, observing the odd tensions between the two, couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. "Since you’re here today, why don’t you stay over? The room’s been prepared—go rest up. The sooner you work on giving me a great-grandchild, the better."

Qin Miaomiao called out coquettishly. She had some dignity too, didn’t she?!

Old Sir Lu, laughing cheerfully, shooed the two out of the room. He then called over a maid and instructed:

"Later, remember to send them some nourishing soup."

Ah, his little great-grandchild. Just imagining those old friends flaunting made him annoyed. Hmph, what’s there to brag about? His great-grandchild would definitely be cuter and smarter!

As Qin Miaomiao and Lu Qing were shoved into the room...

They stared at the space, which had been decorated like a bridal suite, completely dumbfounded. Candles? Roses? Aromatherapy? Red wine?

Even all that had been prepared?!
