Old Sir Lu coughed a few times: "This old bag of bones doesn’t know how much longer he’s got. You brat, come here."
Lu Qing walked forward at a steady pace. Old Sir Lu looked at him, then at Qin Miaomiao, and said deeply:
"I need you to swear that in this lifetime, you’ll take good care of Miao Miao, and not end up like your father..."
Lu Qing immediately interrupted him, his expression extremely serious:
"I will never become a man like him in my lifetime."

As she spoke, her eyes reddened, on the verge of tears. Her pitiful appearance was deeply affecting.
Qin Miaomiao raised her head and glanced at Lu Qing, smiling faintly:
"Hubby, what do you think? With Miss Lin’s acting skills, do you think she could win a Best Actress award if she entered the entertainment industry? Maybe I should sign her up?"
Lu Qing’s lips curled up slightly: "She’s still a bit short of being Best Actress material. Besides, her looks aren’t up to par—it’d be a waste of resources."
"Hmm, that’s why hubby has such sharp taste."
As the two of them carried on their discussion without a care, Lin Han felt extremely humiliated. Finding it unbearable, she said:
"Young Madam, I know you don’t like me. But what happened today was an accident. It was Madam Lu who—"
Qin Miaomiao cut her off directly:
"If you want to act like a whore, then stop pretending to be so virtuous. Coveting my husband—just admit it. Why play innocent? First, you joined the company, trying to become his personal secretary. Now you boldly attend our family dinner. Do you think I’m stupid? Managing to fool my mother-in-law and sister-in-law is your skill, but if you take one more step closer to my husband, do you believe I won’t break your legs?"
Lin Han looked at her in disbelief. She hadn’t expected that even in front of Lu Qing, Qin Miaomiao could say such things. This woman was absolutely like a shrew!
"Young Madam, you misunderstood. I didn’t, Young Master Lu, I really didn’t mean to ruin your marriage."
Lu Qing didn’t respond to her. Instead, he lowered his head and looked at Qin Miaomiao:
Lin Han’s eyes brightened. She thought to herself that Young Master Lu surely couldn’t like such a shrewish woman. This woman was downright stupid, acting so fierce in front of Young Master Lu. She was just waiting for Lu Qing to grow disgusted with her!
Qin Miaomiao shot a sidelong glance at him:
"What, do you have a problem with that?"
"Not at all. However, as your husband, may I suggest letting Little Sixth and Little Seventh handle it instead? No need to dirty your hands."
Little Sixth and Little Seventh were inwardly screaming: Young Master Lu, we’ve never seen a man so unapologetically whipped! You’re absolutely insane!
Lin Han was dumbfounded as she watched Lu Qing walk away with his arm around Qin Miaomiao. She couldn’t understand it at all—why was Young Master Lu so cold and indifferent to her, but so doting and indulgent to that woman? Could she have cast some kind of spell on him?
