Chapter 16 What Are You
It was obvious that something was wrong with this conversation.
Toby Cage frowned, and his eyes were puzzled.
"Mr. Cage, do you know Veronica Parker?" Myra Carllyle asked somewhat reluctantly.
It was as if Nick Cage didn't hear what Myra Carllyle said, and his black eyes only stared at Veronica Parker, "A place like a bar was not for you."
This remark seemed to have an implication, vaguely evoking the memory of that year in the bar.
But what did Nick Cage mean? Wasn't he angry? She also said such misleading words, but she used him as a shield and said that she had a boyfriend.
"Send her back." Nick Cage told his men.
What he said was not clear, Myra Carllyle was anxious to know the truth because she was unconvinced and was meant to see Veronica Parker embarrassed. " Mr. Cage, is really your girlfriend? Why don't you prove it?"
That was what Myra Carllyle and the other people thought.
Toby Cage clenched his jaw, and his eyes fell on Veronica Parker's face as if to see through her heart.
Nick Cage leaned slightly and looked at Myra Carllyle, "Who are you?"
Myra Carllyle was so frightened by the fierceness of his words, that she took a step back, and the hawk-like black eyes she had never seen before made her afraid to look at him again.
Nick Cage confessed, turned around, and left.
The man left behind, "Miss Parker, I'll take you back."
Veronica Parker came to her senses and left the men behind to follow the bodyguards outside the bar.
When she got outside the bar, the bodyguard said, "Just a moment, please. The car will be here soon."
"There's no need to send it off. I'll go back by myself!" With that, Veronica Parker couldn't wait to stop a taxi and ran away.
Was he kidding her? Will she have Nick Cage's men take her back?
As soon as he drops her home, he'll know where she lives, and then she wouldn't be able to hide them when he finds out that she has six children in her house.
Veronica Parker was dizzy after getting in the taxi. Tonight, was a joke. If she had known it, she wouldn't have come.
She almost couldn't come down to Denmark.
Is it just that, Nick Cage is angry? It looks unfathomable, but it can't be seen.
Veronica Parker looked at the box in her hand and wondered if she could return it, and instead buy buckets of milk powder for the kids.
'If you come to your birthday with kindness, but you are so insulted, you'd better stay away from these people in the future.'
The appearance of Toby Cage was an accident. She wondered if he was still with that woman or if he was single.
She didn't see that woman in the bar, and it had nothing to do with her.
She thought she was over with Toby Cage, but she didn't expect him to be Nick Cage's younger brother. When she was with Toby Cage, she heard that he had a big brother who was living with their uncle and they were not on good terms.
Veronica Parker's cell phone rang, and she looked at the caller ID.
Even if there was no storage, she still remembered a remarkable couple of numbers, it was Toby Cage.
She didn't answer, but her cell phone kept ringing, causing the driver to look at her frequently, so she had to answer, "Who is it?"
"if you don't know, why are you answering so late?"
Veronica Parker was exposed, funny, "Do I have to tell you when I should answer?"
"How do you know Nick Cage?" Toby Cage questioned.
"Why should I tell you?"
"Are you getting back at me?"
"you're thinking too much. I'm not that bored."
"As an ex-boyfriend, I advise you to stay away from him."
"Why?"
"Because, I have the same blood as him, I am not interested in your type." The bantering voice of Toby Cage came.
