Chapter 55 Takes Some Imaginative Photos
Nick can be so unkind to a child-like John, not to mention that she is an adult.
After work, Veronica Parker went to have dinner with Chloe Bowen at the address she provided.
The place they went to is naturally a high-end restaurant, which Veronica Parker can't afford.
Chloe Bowen put a card in front of Veronica Parker before the food was served.
Veronica Parker looked at her in bewilderment.
"I know this money won't make up for the lack of maternal love for so many years. But from now on, I hope it will make you better and happier." Chloe Bowen said.
Veronica Parker looked at the card. She knew there must be a lot of money in it, and it could even help her solve the financial problem of raising a child. What more since she has six children under her wings.
However, she didn't use Chloe's money when she was young, let alone as an adult.
"No, I'm not short of money." Veronica Parker refused.
"I know. It's a gift from your mother. Veronica, take it. Just think of it as mom's begging you, okay?" Chloe Bowen said sincerely.
"I really don't need it." Before Veronica Parker had finished her words, the card was stuffed into her hand by Chloe and she held her hand.
'That's mom's hand.' Veronica Parker looks a little dazed.
She saw a scar on her wrist. Chloe was beaten by her father to protect her when she was a child. It still appeared very deep at that time, so it still stayed.
"It's only natural for children to spend their parents' money, and if you don't accept it, your mother will be angry."
Veronica Parker took the card and said, "Don't do this next time."
Chloe Bowen smiled. "Well, knowing that you are independent, as your mother I am really happy to see you like this."
Veronica doesn't want to go shopping after dinner. She wanted to go home early to be with her children.
But then, Chloe insisted on holding her and buying her clothes.
Kay, one of the most powerful subordinates Nick, was on the top floor of the KING Group. He walked into the office of the man in charge.
Nick is still here.
Kay hesitantly raised his hand and adjusted his tie. Nick's black eyes, looked at him coldly, and said. "Mr. Cage, I have taken some pictures. I'll send them to you."
With that, he sent all the photos taken on his mobile phone to Nick Cage.
Nick picked up the phone with a straight face and opened the pictures inside.
One by one, there are all pictures of Chloe and Veronica. The snapped photos are well documented from eating to Chloe handing a bank card and even to shopping for Veronica's clothes.
Chloe Bowen went into a dress store and was picking out dresses. "Veronica, come and have a look. What do you like?"
Veronica Parker frowned slightly. "You're not going to buy me a dress, are you? I can't wear it."
"Why can't you wear it? You can wear it tomorrow."
"What's the event for tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow is John's father's birthday party. It will be held in the most luxurious hotel in the capital. There are a lot of business people and friends that will come. You are my daughter, of course, I also want you to attend."
"Isn't it inappropriate for me to go? What will people think then?"
"I don't care what other people think, but John Cage's father wants you to go." Chloe is in a good mood.
"Why?"
"Silly child, John likes you so much and you are my daughter. What's so strange about your Uncle Cage attaching importance to you?" Chloe Bowen laughed at her.
Veronica Parker vehemently refused. "I'm not going."
"You can't do that. What's it like if you don't go? Uncle Cage still thinks you reject him. It's his birthday party. If you really don't like it, go and show your face then go afterward immediately."
Veronica Parker thought it was okay to show up, it's just she's worried about Nick. "About Nick, is he going?"
Chloe Bowen was stunned and said, "How could he go? He and the Cage family have been cut off for more than a decade, and he can't show up. "
Veronica Parker thought of what he had said to Toby Cage at the KING Group and asked. "Mom, what's going on with all the scandals in the group? How did you marry into the Cage family?"
