Chapter 846 Toby's Will
Could it be Toby Cage? Could it be that he didn't die at all and everything was a lie?
Veronica hurried forward and the hand that unzipped her shoulder bag was shaking. She took out her cell phone and couldn't wait to see the caller ID but it wasn't Toby's number.
She sat disappointedly on the edge of the bed.
The cell phone was still ringing so Veronica had to answer. In a hoarse voice, she said, "Hello."
"Hello, Miss Parker, I'm Master Cage's personal lawyer." A man's voice sounded.
Veronica was stupefied and didn't expect the caller to be Toby's lawyer. "Is there something wrong?"
"The thing is, Master Cage had a will and you would inherit all the property under his name, totaling to 518 billion dollars."
"What? " Veronica was stunned but tears gathered in her eyes.
"The will was made after the last time Master Cage was shot. In fact, I advised him at that time that he didn't have to make a will at a young age but he insisted that he didn't want to give his money to anyone but you in the world. He also said that this is a promise made when the two of you were together. Unexpectedly, it hasn't been long before this happened." The lawyer sighed helplessly.
The promise when they were together?
"When we get married, all the money I have will be yours."
"It's all mine?"
"Well, I'll just put a hundred on me and save it to buy you French fries."
Veronica burst into tears. She put her hands on her head. She was asking herself not to think about it!
However, the more she stopped herself, the more profound the memory was! Her head was about to explode!
She tried her best to put up with it but her whole body was still trembling. She asked painfully as if she was trying to talk to Toby, "Why are you doing this to me? I don't want anything else. I just want you to be alive. Why are you so cruel to me?"
The lawyer couldn't bear to listen but he didn't speak or hang up the phone.
"What on earth have I done wrong? Why did you leave so ruthlessly? Toby! I hate you!" Veronica cried bitterly.
"Miss Parker, take care of yourself! Master Cage does not want you to be so sad and miserable. He wants you to be all right!" The lawyer comforted but to no avail.
Veronica cried more, she was so powerless that she leaned against the head of the bed, her eyes filled with tears and she felt the whole world trembled in her eyes. "Attorney."
"Yes."
"Can you. Help me. A favor. Help me carve on his tablet. I want to carve a few words."
"What word?"
"Wife: Veronica Parker."
"OK, I'll deal with it after I go to see Eden."
"Thank you."
She hung up the phone and Veronica fell on the bed, tears fell down her face.
Toby Cage. Toby Cage. Toby Cage.
Why are you doing this to me? I'd rather your betrayal is real! I'd rather you never loved me! I'd rather that I never knew you so it won't hurt this much!
The servant dared not leave the living room!
She heard Miss Parker on the phone inside the room, crying.
While the servant was still hesitating to call Mr. Cage, the door opened and Miss Parker came out without lifting her face and went straight into the bathroom.
She slammed the door!
Veronica turned on the shower and started to wash herself.
She felt sick and she was out of breath. She needed water to calm herself down!
Soaked in cold water, Veronica Parker slipped against the wall and sat on the ground in a daze.
