My Childhood Sweetheart Is a Crazy Beauty Chapter 421

Chapter 421: Chapter 421 Jealous

Gu Beihuai was truly baffled by the question.

His subconscious inquiry was met with Tang Chuxia pointing at the middle-aged man as she said, “He’s somewhat shady!”

Gu Beihuai didn’t understand why she would say that, considering he had followed her the whole time during their trip. Even though he wanted to send a letter to that man, his duty to closely protect several important figures meant he didn’t have the chance to go off on his own.

Despite that, Gu Beihuai still managed to have someone deliver the letter.

When they were ready to leave, the middle-aged man approached Gu Beihuai and verified his identity.

Naturally, Gu Beihuai wasn’t in a position to decide to bring the man back, but the higher-ups, after confirming the intelligence and technology the man was offering, made every effort to have him brought back.

That’s how the scene of the middle-aged man being at their home came to be.

But regardless of the situation, Tang Chuxia shouldn’t have ever met this person, so why did she think the middle-aged man was shady?

Gu Beihuai couldn’t figure it out.

“He must be the man who abandoned my mom back then, right?”

Gu Beihuai found it hard to comment on Tang Chuxia’s speculation. Although he knew about the man’s relationship with Madam Tang before returning to the country, that was only when he was verifying identities. Now, he was simply listening to gossip as Tang Chuxia’s husband.

“A person like that, for whatever reasons he had, left without a word for many years. If it weren’t for Yang Chao’s reminder, my mom would never have contacted him!”

A warning for him to behave while he was abroad, yet he not only ignored it, he also came back.

This caused Father Tang and Madam Tang to argue.

Tang Chuxia had never been one to actively matchmake Father Tang and Madam Tang’s relationship; she respected anyone’s choice in marriage.

So, all she hoped for was that whatever decision they made would be in a state of calmness between the two.

In fact, after arguing for a while, Father Tang and Madam Tang decided to sit down and calmly discuss the matter.

“What exactly did you come back for?”

Madam Tang coldly questioned the middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man opened his mouth and finally just said, “Ah Lan, I regret it every moment!”

Madam Tang replied, “Oh, I’m sorry, but I’ve been happy every moment that you didn’t marry me back then.”

If the conversation were to stall here, it would probably end in silence.

“What are you two doing? Trying to rekindle an old flame?”

Father Tang shouted from aside, clutching Madam Tang’s wrist.

Madam Tang shook off his hand.

“Just sit down, it has nothing to do with you!”

Father Tang felt wronged, but he could see that Madam Tang was angry. Trying to provoke Madam Tang at this time might just lead to real trouble.

The wronged Father Tang could only turn to Tang Chuxia, hoping to find a bit of comfort in his daughter’s expression.

Unfortunately, Tang Chuxia had all her attention on Madam Tang and the middle-aged man.

One was full of self-blame, the other as cold as ice.

Just as the atmosphere was about to turn awkward, someone came walking in from outside.

Tang Chuxia peeked out and immediately dragged Gu Beihuai out with her.

They really needed to be quick, or else she feared she’d get implicated.

Gu Beihuai, seeing the person who had entered, reacted much the same as Tang Chuxia, no difference at all.

Grandma stepped into the house, looking around, and finally, her gaze settled on the middle-aged man.

Perhaps the change in the middle-aged man was too great; Grandma didn’t recognize him at first but after a long while, she finally said, “Is this that wimp from back then?”

Tang Chuxia almost burst out laughing.

There was always some kind of magic about Grandma that made even the most serious things seem amusing.

“Hello, Auntie!” This update ıs available on 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵·𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮·𝓷𝓮𝓽

The middle-aged man took the initiative to greet Grandma, only to be met with an icy glare from her, “I certainly don’t have a vile nephew like you who lacks all decency!”

The middle-aged man: …

He probably hadn’t been so openly mocked to his face in many years and seemed somewhat unable to withstand it.

Madam Tang spoke up in an attempt to mediate, “Mom, why have you come?”

Grandma snorted coldly, “If I hadn’t come, were you planning to forgive this bastard?”

Madam Tang said nothing.

She was still wondering whether she had shown any weaknesses upon seeing the man, but her mother’s arrival had cut everything off.

“Ma’am, I’ve come back to reclaim what’s mine!”

With that single sentence, the man managed to stun everyone present.

It seemed his ambitions were not small.

Tang Chuxia instinctively backed away, feeling a murderous aura in that instant.

Especially now, all Tang Chuxia could think to do was dodge and evade, to avoid being implicated.

So when Grandma suddenly pulled out a whip coiled around her wrist and struck the middle-aged man, everyone was shocked.

“We can’t seriously hurt anyone here! He still needs to work!”

Gu Beihuai was in a panic; he wasn’t worried about the middle-aged man being whipped, as a whip not falling on oneself doesn’t invoke much reaction, at most offering some verbal comfort.

But what use was that?

Perhaps Tang Chuxia knew this as well, which was why she just pulled Gu Beihuai back out of the comfort zone, listening to the commotion inside.

Gu Beihuai was pulled aside by Tang Chuxia, “My Grandma knows her limits, at most he will end up with a bruised and swollen face, and it’ll be fine after a few days.”

This wasn’t nonsense; Grandma really was that kind of person.

Gu Beihuai, clearly not wanting to offend Grandma either, took Tang Chuxia to their own yard next door.

He had just come back, and after nearly starting a fight, he hadn’t had a proper chance to be affectionate with Tang Chuxia and was becoming a little impatient.

Gu Beihuai hugged Tang Chuxia and gave her a kiss on the lips.

Tang Chuxia covered his mouth, “Don’t kiss me, you smell. Go take a shower first!”

The house was equipped with hot water for bathing.

Gu Beihuai looked at Tang Chuxia with a mournful expression, which was met with her pointing at the dirt behind his ears and laughing hysterically.

Left with no choice, Gu Beihuai went to cleanse himself thoroughly and get clean.

But after freshening up, he found that Tang Chuxia wasn’t waiting for him in the room.

Without thinking, he knew that Tang Chuxia must be at her mother-in-law’s place next door.

Sure enough, when Gu Beihuai arrived, he saw that Tang Jianbing had also returned, and the middle-aged man was still there.

Tang Jianbing had just come back and had no clue what had happened, looking completely baffled.

Tang Chuxia didn’t have the time to explain when Licorice quietly relayed the gossip she had heard, leaving Tang Jianbing astonished.

This middle-aged man was his mother’s former lover?

It was as if he had seen a ghost!

“So they plan to rekindle their relationship?” Tang Jianbing spoke with reluctance, and Tang Chuxia said, “How could that be possible? Just look at our mother’s eyes; whenever her gaze falls on that ‘uncle,’ you can see the tumult of emotions swirling within.”
