When the believers of the Living Beings Sect realized that something was wrong and sneaked away from the bottom, it followed them.
Below the ground fissures, there was a spacious tunnel dug by four believers who had four special "arms" grafted onto their upper bodies.
The tunnel was more than ten miles long, and its exit was in a dense thicket.
Owen Bertram originally intended to track them down and find the Living Beings Sect’s lair in Copper Gorge. However, after checking the Spider-legged Monster’s memory, he knew this plan wouldn’t work but didn’t call back the Divine Heavenly Soldier.
There were more than 20 believers in this group, led by a person with a bear-like monster head on each shoulder. The leader had a Tier-5 power level and was probably a Regional Altar Master.
They fled from the tunnel without any pauses, even wading through a river to throw off pursuers. After walking four or five miles in the river, they went ashore, ran several more miles, and then rested in a cave.
The bear-headed monster sat with his eyes closed, likely being contacted by the Altar Master.
The Divine Heavenly Soldier hid in the shadows, waiting for their next move.
The Living Beings Sect learned about the events of the battle, and so Mr Harris and the others did too.
On his way back, Owen thought of the Tier-5 Great Demon’s soul as a nourishment and fed it to Lord Algernon, wondering if it would have any taste.
Unexpectedly, a Communication Talisman on Lord Algernon suddenly started vibrating. Owen remembered that this was the one Lord Algernon and Spencer Aiden used to communicate with each other!
At that time, Lord Algernon was really poor! He tried his best to get more treasures from the young master of the Nanni Nation through Spencer Aiden.
The young master promised to send a woman named "Sharon" to bring the treasure as a bribe. Like a toad waiting for food to drop from heaven, Lord Algernon waited with his mouth wide open.
But as time passed, Sharon never came, and Lord Algernon eventually forgot about it as other matters arose.
