Behind Leroy Baker were Catherine and two other B-list Heaven’s Chosen. Further behind, there was a significantly larger caravan!
"Fairy Catherine wants to travel around the world, so I suggested she visit the Summit Metropolitan Office first. We have volunteered to accompany her for her safety," he said.
Catherine, still veiled, gave a slight bow to Owen, "Sorry to disturb you."
Owen stared fiercely at Leroy, "What are you up to..." Leroy, who knew him too well, pointed to the caravan behind him. "These are various cultivation resources that my Moses Sect is sending to support the Summit Metropolitan Office. The total value is about 7 million spirit Jades."
On behalf of the Summit Metropolitan Office, Sir Owen extended a warm welcome: "On behalf of the Summit Metropolitan Office, we warmly welcome the arrival of the Dragon and Snake List Geniuses!"
A giggle escaped from Catherine at the other side.
Thus, the two teams merged and slowly moved through the marketplace. It took a whole shichen (2 hours) to finally arrive at the City Gate. Originally, Owen had been worried about the inspection at the city gate, but it seems the Emperor had forgotten about his prime minister,Lord Porter and Evans Graham. The Central Prison was headless due to Colby Dominic’s refusal to meet anyone, and therefore, no one was paying any attention to both cases. As such, the caravan smoothly left the city without encountering any trouble.
Throughout the trip, Leroy was feeling uneasy because of the two weird men following him.
Glenn Mitchell had an icy cold look, just like a ghost, and always seemed like the whole world owed him 30,000 spirit Jades.
Then there was Wayne Malvin. The formerly rebellious and unpredictable prodigy, after facing some setbacks, now resembled a living corpse, his eyes completely blank. He made a perfect pair with Glenn Mitchell!
Leroy quietly asked Owen, "My Lord, how did Wayne Malvin end up with you?"
Owen sighed in his heart, "It’s a long story."
After the caravan had travelled twenty miles south of the city, they found a pavilion by the roadside with a group of people and someone spread over three chairs – the Fifth Prince, wiping his sweat with a silk scarf, "Finally, you are here. This hot weather is really unbearable for people like me."
He handed a cup of wine to Owen, "Sending you off in the city might draw unwanted attention, so I waited for you here instead."
It was a surprise for Owen that the Fifth Prince would come out of the city to see him off. Feeling touched, he was also somewhat puzzled.
"Your Highness, you honour me."
The Fifth Prince took a farewell drink with him, looked a bit genuinely sad, "With you leaving, the capital loses another interesting character and it’s now filled only with the scent of money, which really bores me.
Believe it or not, I, too wish to defend a territory for the Wood Dynasty like you, or even conquer new ones!
I want to kill a Demon Beast with my own hands, not just play games in the hunting grounds."
Owen Bertram bowed his head in silence, while the Fifth Prince forced a smile. "Enough, I’ve said too much. You should set off now. Next time you return to the capital, I’ll drink with you again."
Owen Bertram put down his cup and cupped his fists, "Take care, Your Highness."
After Owen Bertram’s caravan had travelled three miles, a gust of wind came from the back. Bertram was surprised to see the Fifth Prince’s husky body racing after him, his sagging cheeks rippling as he ran.
The Fifth Prince catched up with him, handed him something secretly without letting anyone else see, and then whispered in his ear, "This is my hard-earned private money to help build a powerful navy for our Great Wood Dynasty! Don’t spend it recklessly, or you’ll pay!"
He turned and left. Owen Bertram held the object in his hand – a Storage Brocade Pouch. He probed inside with his mind and found it completely filled with spirit Jades – roughly about 200 million of them!
"The Fifth Prince... he’s not simple!"
As Owen pondered the Fifth Prince’s intentions, the caravan travelled 160 miles that day and rested in a small town inn alongside the road by nightfall.
After everyone had gone to sleep, Owen Bertram suddenly opened his eyes on his bed, and activated his Divine Broken Void!
