Su Hongxing was unaffected by the sight of the plane ticket and cheque handed over by Mr. Ye.
Deep inside, she wished she could just pick up the ticket and check and leave immediately. However, there were still other people in the mansion; if Ye Qilan found out she was still considering leaving him, his watch over her would only become stricter than before.
“Yalun told me everything. It was you who cured Sisi’s illness. This is a cheque for 20 million, as your reward. I’m not trying to impress you by throwing money around, rather I think you curing Sisi’s disease was worth this amount. With this money, you can live the rest of your life worry-free. You do not need to worry about your grandmother and cousin; this old man will look after them, Sisi wouldn’t dare to act recklessly…”
The more Mr. Ye spoke, the more tempted Su Hongxing became. It would be foolish not to use this check and plane ticket to escape.
She had long sought to escape from Ye Qilan’s control, and now was a great opportunity. Pity she had prepared a plan to play at the wedding day which is now not going to be used before her.
Just as Su Hongxing was about to take the ticket and cheque, Xiaole’s voice suddenly rang out, “Miss Su, the Master has asked you to pick him up now.”
Su Hongxing was taken aback, almost forgetting about this matter.
At this point, Xiaole handed her phone to Su Hongxing. She was reluctant to take the phone, preferring the ticket and cheque…
“Miss Su, the Master is waiting impatiently,” Xiaole urged, daring not to look at Mr. Ye.
Finally, Su Hongxing’s rational mind overcame emotions. Before ensuring her escape, she couldn’t let Ye Qilan know her plan.
She took the phone, and from the other side came Ye Qilan’s impatient voice, “Su Hongxing, what on earth are you doing? Why isn’t anyone answering the phone for so long? Or are you trying to escape while I’m not there?!”
His loud voice almost hurt Su Hongxing’s eardrums. She retreated a little and gently responded, “No such thing. Weren’t you at a dinner meeting?”
“I have already finalized the deal with the client. Pick me up immediately, at once!”
Ye Qilan’s words made Su Hongxing inwardly flabbergasted. He just left, and he had already finished negotiating?
“Why aren’t you saying anything?!” Ye Qilan’s voice grew colder.
Only then did Su Hongxing realize that there was something wrong with Ye Qilan’s mood. Besides, Ye Si couldn’t have just gone to a dinner meeting, meet a client and immediately close the deal.
The only possibility is that Ye Qilan already knew that Mr. Ye was in Taicheng, talking to her.
Thinking of this, she broke a cold sweat. She wondered if it was Xiaole who tipped off Ye Qilan or were the people watching her in the villa who had relayed the news to him.
“Actually, I can’t get away right now because your grandfather is here. He’s chatting to me,” Su Hongxing decided it was better to come clean.
Fortunately, she had thought ahead and not gleefully taken the tickets and cheque. If she hadn’t, all her hard work would have been wasted.
There was silence on the other end of the line for a while. Just as Su Hongxing was fretting, Ye Qilan spoke again, “Come and pick me up now. You can’t go back on your word.”
“Alright, I’m on my way.” Su Hongxing was about to terminate the call.
However, Ye Qilan on the other end of the line said, “Don’t hang up. You’re not allowed to hang up until you see me.”
Su Hongxing repeatedly told him okay, and finally managed to appease Ye Qilan. She stood up, looking at Mr. Ye who was watching her with interest, and stammered, “He wants me to pick him up. What do you think?”
