Beichuan couldn’t be bothered to pay any attention to Ye Qilan, so he called Su Hongxing instead.
“Did she seize the opportunity to run away?” Beichuan muttered.
Knowing Su Hongxing’s temperament, it was very likely she would use Ye Qilan’s engagement as a chance to escape.
Ye Qilan, with a heavy heart, was about to leave when he heard Beichuan’s words. His heart rate quickened.
He remembered how Su Hongxing had suddenly disappeared the day before. Could this have been a rehearsal for her escape?

Just as Beichuan was about to grab something to eat in the food area, his phone was suddenly snatched away by Ye Qilan.
“Ye Qilan, what is wrong with you?!” Beichuan was tempted to kick him to death.
Ye Qilan had no time to pay any attention to Beichuan. He tried calling Xiaole, but nobody answered. He then called the villa’s landline. Again, there was no answer.

He finally called Age, and asked, “Didn’t I ask you to keep a close eye on the villa? Is there anything odd about Su Hongxing?”
“Certainly! I assigned over a dozen capable guards to all the exits. There’s no way Miss Su could escape.” Age replied.
“Then you give them a call and see if everything is okay.” Yen Qilan said before hanging up.
Age made the call, but nobody answered. He tried another number, and still, no answer.
Now he was panicking and he replied to Ye Qilan, “Sir, no one is answering their phones. There may have been a problem.”
Ye Qilan cursed under his breath.
Damn Su Hongxing. He knew this woman wouldn’t let him off easily. It was just as he expected.
Seeing Ye Qilan leave, Ye’s father yelled, “Ye Qilan, where do you think you’re going?!”
The engagement banquet was about to start. Was Ye Qilan thinking of running at this time?
Mo Qiu had been keeping an eye on Ye Qilan from not far away. Seeing that something seemed off, Mo Qiu moved to block Ye Qilan’s escape, whispering, “Qilan, wait till after the engagement ceremony to leave.”
“I have something to handle.” Ye Qilan said, impatiently pushing Mo Qiu away.
Mo Qiu held on to him from behind, refusing to let go, “I’m not letting you leave. You promised me, you wouldn’t leave me no matter what happens during the engagement banquet.”
How could he go back on his word?!
Right, it must be Su Hongxing. That woman had called over, Su Hongxing wanted to ruin her engagement party.
Ye Qilan forcefully broke free from Mo Qiu’s grip and quickly dashed out of the hotel.
The vehicle Age was in just stopped next to him. Once inside, Age said, “I’ve already dispatched someone. We should receive news soon.”
Ten minutes later, news finally came from the villa. All the security personnel, including Xiaole, were unconscious.
Liu Qingyin was gone, and so was Su Hongxing.
“Xiaole also mentioned seeing a large amount of blood…” Age said, glancing at Ye Qilan.
Ye Qilan’s lips tightened into a thin line, but he couldn’t say anything.
They raced back to the villa as quickly as possible.
When Ye Qilan entered the living room, he saw Xiaole sitting in a daze by the stairs, her blood-stained hand exposed: “Miss Hongxing… she lost so much blood…”
Ye Qilan slowed his pace, seeing the trail of blood leading up the stairs.
Ye Qilan stalled, tracing a path up the bloody staircase. Once he reached the master bedroom, he found the floor stained with blood as well.
His gaze finally rested on the bed.
The originally immaculate sheet was soaked in a large bloodstain.
In the air, the stench of blood was still lingering, refusing to disperse…
