When he found out that Xia Jing was going to look for Su Wan, Jing Chen had to admit that he was the one who was itching.
After arranging for Xia Jing to be sent over, Jing Chen couldn’t help but video call Su Wan.
Su Wan was preparing to welcome Xia Jing’s refreshments. She had put in a lot of effort into making every dessert. They looked very good and the taste was also recommended by many aunties.
Su Wan was filled with confidence.
When she picked up the video call, she was forced to stop. She looked at the man on the phone in embarrassment and smiled bitterly. “You definitely can’t come. If you come, Bai Lian will definitely be suspicious.”
Jing Chen frowned and reluctance flashed across his face. “Why can Xia Jing? She’s the main participant. I’m just in charge of fanning the flames. I should be the one who’s clear to come.”
Su Wan glanced at him helplessly and took the phone stand from the auntie. She put it away and placed the phone at a suitable angle before washing her hands again. She lowered her head and busied herself with desserts. She said perfunctorily, “Bai Lian doesn’t care where Xia Jing is. Do you think Bai Lian will be willing if you don’t go back to look for her for a day?”
Jing Chen was rendered speechless by her words. His eyes were fixed on Su Wan’s every move. After a moment of silence, he suddenly thought of something and hurriedly said, “Wan wan, you’re not mistaken, are you? Nothing happened between Bai Lian and me.”
“I didn’t misunderstand.”
Su Wan blurted out. After saying that, she glanced at Jing Chen and said meaningfully, “I don’t care about your attitude towards Bai Lian now. You don’t have to tell me.”
Jing Chen was originally staring at Su Wan and thinking nonsense. When he heard this, he was stunned. He was very uncomfortable. He knew very well what this meant.
“Wan wan, do you not care about my matters anymore? Even if something really happened between Bai Lian and me, you don’t care, right?”
Su Wan’s heart ached. She hesitated, but her hands didn’t stop moving. She squeezed the cream on the cake and spun it back and forth. After covering the entire cake, she smiled and said, “Yes, I don’t have the right to care about your private matters.”
“You do! What if I say you do? Wan wan, will you care?” Jing Chen asked anxiously, staring at Su Wan without blinking.
He was looking forward to Su Wan’s answer.
Su Wan put down the cream and skillfully smoothened the cream on the cake.
She replied unhurriedly, “What’s the point of caring? Instead of being aggressive, why don’t you lead by example? I think there shouldn’t be any woman in this world who can accept her man having another woman apart from her.
Su Wan stopped there and continued, “And you’re not my man anymore, so you can do whatever you want. I don’t care at all.”
Jing Chen had just relaxed when he heard the first part of her words. When he finished listening, he had a bitter expression on his face. However, Jing Chen did not know what to say. He could only look at the cake that Su Wan had made. “If I go look for you, are you willing to make a delicious cake for me?”
“It depends on my mood.”
Su Wan smoothed out the cream and started to carefully decorate the cake with the fruits she had prepared.
Xia Jing liked strawberries. It was a simple cake, Su Wan didn’t make it look too fancy. She put a black strawberry and a red one. The two strawberries were leaning against each other. They were round and especially cute.
At the thought of this, Su Wan looked at the cake and smiled sweetly.
Jing Chen watched the whole process and said bitterly, “If only your answer was as beautiful as your smile just now.”
“Put yourself in my shoes. You only want an answer from me to make yourself feel better because you wronged me. Jing Chen, there’s no need. People can lie, and I’m no exception.”
Su Wan sealed the cake and slowly lifted it up. After saying that, she carried it to the fridge and refrigerated the cake.
Jing Chen looked at her deeply and fell into deep thought.
Just then, Bai Lian suddenly barged into his office and Jing Chen hung up the video call without hesitation.
