“You didn’t even tell me about such an important matter!”
“There’s no mystery if we told you! There has to be surprises in life!”
It would be a lie to say that she was not touched.
Su Wan’s heart felt warm.
Even in the past two years of contractual marriage, Jing Chen had never prepared a surprise for her. There were only gifts for holidays and anniversaries.
Su Wan’s heart warmed. She took the roses. “Then I’ll reluctantly forgive you.”
Although she said that, she actually buried her head in the flower and smiled shyly.
Jing Chen’s hand was empty. He took Su Wan’s hand and pulled her to his side. Then, he said to Jing Hai and Qin Lan, “Grandpa, Mom, I’m going out with Wan wan. We’ll go home after a short while.”
Jing Hai smiled and waved his hand. “Go, go.”
Qin Lan reminded her, “Take good care of Wan wan. You have to be careful of my grandchild!”
Jing Chen nodded solemnly and pulled Su Wan out.
When they reached the entrance of the hospital, Jing Chen suddenly said to Su Wan, “Wan wan, wait for me here. I’ll go get the car.”
Su Wan thought that Jing Chen didn’t let Zhao Lin drive today, so she nodded and agreed. “Okay.”
Jing Chen was afraid that Su Wan would be tired if she stood there for too long, so he thoughtfully found a seat for her and took the flowers from her hand. “These flowers are a little heavy. I’ll put them in the car first.”
Su Wan thought about it and agreed. She handed the flowers to Jing Chen and he took them in another direction.
After Jing Chen left for a while, a child walked over with a rose. “Sister, you’re so good-looking. This flower is for you.”
The child’s childish voice made one unable to refuse.
Su Wan smiled and took the flowers. She patted the little kid’s head. “Thank you! You’re so obedient!”
Su Wan didn’t realize what this meant and treated it as a stranger’s kindness.
Five minutes later, another child came over with the same type of rose. “Sister, you’re so good-looking. This flower is for you.”
Su Wan heard the same words a second time.
However, she still did not suspect anything. She smiled and thanked him like she did with her first child.
But ten minutes later, fifteen minutes later, Jing Chen was still not back. However, more children came to give her flowers.
Su Wan finally realized that something was wrong. She thought that today was not a special day. Why were there so many people giving her flowers?
Besides, why wasn’t Jing Chen back after driving for so long?
Su Wan stood up and wanted to look for Jing Chen.
Xia Jing walked over with a serious expression. Su Wan frowned slightly and asked, “Xiaxia, why are you here? Have you seen Jing Chen?”
Xia Jing had a bitter expression on her face. When she saw Su Wan running up to her, she held her hand anxiously. “Wan wan, Jing Chen told me that something happened to him and asked me to pick you up.”
Su Wan’s joy disappeared when she heard that something had happened. “Xiaxia, what happened to him? Is he okay?”
Xia Jing did not say anything else and just pulled Su Wan in the direction Jing Chen had left.
Seeing Xia Jing’s reaction, Su Wan was worried again. She prayed silently that nothing would happen to Jing Chen.
After running for a while, Xia Jing suddenly stopped, but Su Wan was extremely anxious. She just wanted to run to Jing Chen’s side immediately.
“Xiaxia, why did you stop? Take me to Jing Chen!” Su Wan looked around, but she couldn’t see anyone.
Xia Jing became calm. “Wan wan, Jing Chen is not in danger. Relax. Put this on and I’ll bring you to him, okay?”
Xia Jing handed Su Wan a piece of black cloth. Su Wan took a look and looked at Xia Jing suspiciously. “Xiaxia, you…”
