Chapter 11: Chapter 11 It Turns Out President Shen is an Unreasonable Person
When she first found out that Li Zisheng and Xue Qi were together, she wasn’t sad at all, let alone today, four years later.
Xue Qi’s boasting had no impact on Su Nian.
“Really? Congratulations then, no wonder you look much older, it turns out you’ve had a child.”
Xue Qi’s smile froze on her face, looking at her resentfully, indeed she aged quite a bit after having a child, while Su Nian still looked as young as she did four years ago, having shed her youthful naivety and becoming even prettier, something she was unwilling to admit.
“Morning, President Shen!”
“President Shen is here! President Shen is here!”
Everyone’s first reaction was not to immediately return to their workstations, but to stare unblinkingly at the rarely seen Shen Hanxiu.
Today, he was dressed in a dark grey suit. Su Nian used to say he was like a mannequin and it was a pity not to become a model; anything he wore looked good on him, as it was four years ago, so it is today.
Shen Hanxiu’s gaze quickly found Su Nian in the corner, their eyes met, and it was still Su Nian who first looked away.
Shen Hanxiu spoke calmly: “New employees who just joined today, come here for a moment.”
Lin Weilan nudged Su Nian, saying cheerfully, “Sister Niannian, just you.”
She was the only newcomer in the finance department, for a moment everyone’s gaze focused on her, murmuring discussions, wondering what kind of deity could make President Shen personally intervene.
Su Nian was stunned momentarily, then stood up and walked towards Shen Hanxiu.
Though she didn’t want to meet him, now considering her status as the boss and hers as just a new junior accountant.
With everyone watching her, Su Nian walked up to Shen Hanxiu. She initially didn’t want to attract too much attention, but now any slight connection with Shen Hanxiu meant she could no longer remain calm.
Su Nian glared at him but still obediently followed.
He walked swiftly ahead with a dominating aura, with Su Nian hurriedly following behind.
As soon as they entered the elevator, and it was just the two of them, Su Nian said, “Don’t do this at the company, people will gossip.”
But he sternly reprimanded her, “Accountant Su, there are rules in the company, you must speak respectfully and not bring up personal matters during work.”
It always seemed she was on the losing end when talking with him: “… President Shen, apologies.” As if she was the one mixing personal benefits with public duties.
Su Nian no longer spoke and followed him into his office.
Shen Hanxiu walked to his desk, picked up a beautifully crafted small paper box, and handed it to Su Nian, “Zhenzhen said you didn’t have breakfast and asked me to bring this for you.”
Su Nian eyed the box in his hand and used his own words against him, “President Shen, work time isn’t for personal matters.”
“Whatever is discussed in the office is considered official.”
“Is that the company rule you are talking about, President Shen?”
Shen Hanxiu thrust the box into her hands, casually sitting down, “I set the company’s rules, what you need to do is to obey.”
Su Nian, suppressing anger with a laugh, “So, President Shen is a person who doesn’t reason.”
“What kind of person I am, you know best, don’t you?”
Under someone’s roof, one can hardly avoid bowing down, she couldn’t provoke but could always hide: “If there’s nothing else, President Shen, I’ll head back first.”
“Come back,” Shen Hanxiu called her back in a cold voice.
Su Nian stopped her steps, turned back, and with a clenched teeth faint smile she asked politely, “Does President Shen have any further instructions?”
Shen Hanxiu pulled out a transparent file bag from a drawer: “Here are your employee badge and meal card, take them.”
Su Nian came forward to take them, weren’t these things supposed to be managed by HR?
“Thank you, President Shen, but with you being so busy, maybe leave HR matters to them from now on.”
Shen Hanxiu picked up a document on the side, looking like he was dismissing the court, “I know what I’m doing, you may go now.”
