In Su Nian’s uneasiness, the car drove on a deserted mountain road for almost an hour and pulled into a wide dam to stop.
The scene in front of her was unlike the desolate and dark mountain road just now; colored lights were twinkling, the palace shone resplendently under the lights, and faint sounds of men and women talking and laughing in song could be heard.
Tang Shaosheng got out of the car, gentlemanly opened the door for her, and commanded, “Hook your arm with mine.”

Su Nian raised her head upon hearing the voice, only to find that everyone, previously engaged in laughter and chats, had now turned their attention to her and Tang Shaosheng.

Tang Shaosheng glanced at Su Nian and, without a word, walked with her all the way to the innermost part of the palace.
Not far away, a group of men and women seated on sofas immediately stood up upon seeing Tang Shaosheng approach, making room for him, “Brother Sheng is here? Please, have a seat.”

As they guessed, Tang Shaosheng generously admitted, “Good eye, her name is Su Nian.”

Though shorter than Shen Hanxiu, he still stood out in the crowd.
This man was the second son of the Shen family, Shen Hanxiu’s half-brother by the same father, Shen Rongjin.
