Chapter 264: Chapter 191: Having a Woman by Your Side Feels Pretty Good

Seeking out the given address, I found the private room full of people, with Yang Zichen still sitting upright, but under the white light, I could tell his face was flushed from alcohol.
Wei Lan pushed open the door, and all eyes in the room turned to her, followed by roaring laughter. Then a man wearing black-framed glasses came over and ushered her inside, saying, “Sis-in-law! Have a seat inside.”
Before Wei Lan could comprehend the situation, Yang Zichen stood up and pulled her to sit beside him.
Amidst the noise, someone said, “We were playing Truth or Dare. Brother Chen lost and had to call a female friend, to see if she would come to pick him up since he was drunk. And then, it turned out there’s only one woman’s number in his phone!”
Yang Zichen glared at him, which only provoked laughter and teasing from the others.
Wei Lan’s face turned red, and she didn’t know what to say, her mind in turmoil.
His phone only had her number as the contact of the opposite sex…
“Let’s continue playing, little sis-in-law, shall we?”
Before Wei Lan could respond, Yang Zichen had already clasped her hand and stood up: “We’re heading back now.”
After saying that, he led Wei Lan through the crowd, leaving behind a wave of complaints and jeers.
“Brother Chen, don’t go! It’ll be less fun without you!”
And another person snickered, “Right, we still wanted to dig up some more secrets.”

Wei Lan’s face was embarrassingly red.
They say it was Yang Zichen holding her, but in reality, it was she helping him, entering the elevator, before Wei Lan finally asked, “Why did you drink so much?”
“Without a woman to look after them, this is how men are.”
Wei Lan didn’t want to delve deeper into that remark because she was already overthinking.
Wei Lan nodded, “I got my driver’s license last year, but I haven’t really driven much.”
Yang Zichen didn’t say anything further and just handed her the car keys.
He had drunk so much that of course, he wasn’t able to drive; Wei Lan took the keys from him.
The roads at night were not crowded, driving slowly was still manageable.
He must have really drunk quite a bit; as soon as he got into the car, he closed his eyes on the seat.
Wei Lan leaned over, pulled over the seatbelt, and buckled it for him, then started the car.
The car was silent, Wei Lan taking care to drive.
When the car stopped at the traffic lights, Wei Lan turned to look at him, and her heart raced again.
His tie was loosely knotted around his neck, and the previously neatly buttoned shirt had two buttons undone, revealing a sexy Adam’s apple. His side profile facing her, his medium-thick lips slightly pursed, and his short hair cast a thin shadow on his face, like a mist that made it difficult to see clearly, but it was a beautiful scene that tempted you to explore further.
Wei Lan was so mesmerized that she didn’t notice him suddenly opening his eyes, looking directly at her; taken aback, Wei Lan had no time to avert her gaze. His voice was lazy as he asked, “Are we there?”
Wei Lan hurriedly faced forward, her words stumbling, “Not… waiting… at the red light.”
As she spoke, the light turned green, and Wei Lan started driving again without daring to look back at him.
The car fell silent again, then his voice suddenly came once more, “Do I look that good?”
Wei Lan pretended not to hear, and he didn’t ask further.
Her thoughts were in disarray, but she vividly remembered that her heart had never beat as fast as it did that night…
Helping him into the house and laying him on the bed, she couldn’t help but wonder how he managed all on his own after so many social occasions, certainly not the first time being this drunk.
In the darkness, his hoarse voice came through, “You should go to sleep.”
But Wei Lan couldn’t leave him be, knowing all too well how bad it felt to be drunk.
His jacket was taken off and given to her, so he was only wearing a thin shirt. Wei Lan pulled over the blanket to cover him, then turned to the bathroom to get some hot water to wipe his face.
Knowing he wasn’t asleep yet, she said, “Wait a moment, I’ll go heat up some milk for you.”
He murmured an affirmative, feeling something swell in his heart.
Having a woman around felt quite nice.
It was still a bit cold downstairs, and she wore his jacket, which was a whole size larger on her but felt very warm.
The feeling of wearing a man’s clothes and standing by the sink was very… intimate.
She remembered what everyone had said – Special Assistant Yang had no girls around him, and the only woman’s number in his phone…
