My five ghostly husbands Chapter 164

After breakfast, Ruby freshened up and got ready to leave for the set.

Before stepping out, she turned to her husbands. "Copy the paragraph I’ve written for you," she instructed, handing them the papers.

Then, she gave Julian a separate task. "Teach Adrian some basics today," she said.

Julian, still avoiding her gaze, nodded stiffly. He shouldn’t have been this flustered, but he couldn’t even meet her eyes.

Ruby didn’t question it. She simply took some money, grabbed her things, and left for the set.

As she arrived, the set was livelier than last time. The atmosphere was lively, with several pretty people standing around, laughing and chatting.

Director Sylvia spotted her instantly.

"Miss Ruby! Over here!" Sylvia called out, waving.

Ruby nodded and walked over. Sylvia quickly introduced her to some of the cast members.

Ruby greeted them politely, shaking hands where needed, her attitude calm and professional.

However, she didn’t immediately notice the sharp gaze watching her from a distance.

She was standing a little further away, her eyes locked on Ruby, her expression unreadable. A strange smile played on her lips.

Ruby only realized it when she glanced around the set.

Her cold gaze landed directly on Lyra.

The moment their eyes met, Lyra immediately dropped her act, pretending not to see her and quickly turning to her friends, engaging in conversation.

Ruby’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Something about that Witch felt off.

However, Ruby shook off her feelings for now and focused on what Director Sylvia was saying.

"Miss Ruby, you need to edit some footages and scenes, and it should be done by late afternoon. Is that alright? I know you can do it—and you’ll also get a bonus."

Hearing the word bonus, Ruby’s eyes immediately lit up. She nodded without hesitation.

So this is how her employees must have felt in her past life whenever she gave them bonuses...

Sylvia continued, "There will be some other editors there too."

Ruby nodded in acknowledgment and walked toward the editing tent.

Inside, she saw two witches already seated at the editing table.

One had a round face and striking blue eyes, while the other had dark hair and deep green eyes.

The blue-eyed witch smiled warmly at Ruby and introduced herself.

"Hi, my name is Celeste," she said, her voice light and friendly.

The other witch, with dark hair and deep green eyes, gave a small nod before introducing herself as well.

"I’m Vera." Her tone was calmer, more composed, but not unfriendly.

Ruby took a seat across from them, quickly assessing their energy. Celeste seemed cheerful and welcoming, while Vera had a more serious, observant nature.

"Nice to meet you both," Ruby said, offering a slight smile as she prepared to start her work.

She turned on the computer, feeling both Celeste and Vera’s curious gazes on her.

Vera, with her serious expression, spoke first. "Miss Ruby, we’re going to be your assistants, helping you with any scenes you need. So if you need help or anything, we’re here. Right now, I’m working on color correction and scene transitions. Some clips need stabilization, and director Sylvia asked me to smooth out any rough edits."

Her tone was calm and professional, clearly focused on her task.

Celeste, on the other hand, grinned playfully. "And I’m handling the audio track—adjusting volumes, syncing dialogue, and making sure everything sounds smooth." She winked. "If you need help, you know where to find me—I’m sitting right next to you."

Ruby smiled slightly at Celeste’s teasing but nodded in acknowledgment. "Got it."

She then cracked her knuckles, ready to dive into her work.

And soon they started working together, ruby have no problem in working with team Since it’s make task easier and she didn’t hesitate to give them work.

And soon, they started working together.

Ruby had no problem working with a team—in fact, she preferred it when tasks were split efficiently. It made everything faster and smoother.

She didn’t hesitate to delegate work, knowing that trying to do everything alone was inefficient.

"Vera, check the transitions on these clips. Some of them feel too abrupt—they need to be smoother," Ruby said while adjusting a cut on her screen.

Vera, ever focused and serious, nodded immediately. "On it." She quickly opened the timeline and began smoothing out the cuts, ensuring that each transition felt natural and smooth.

"Celeste, work on the background score for this scene," Ruby added without looking up. "The dialogue is getting overpowered by the music. Balance it out."

Celeste grinned, already dragging the files onto her screen. "Gotcha, Miss Bossy." She winked but didn’t delay, quickly adjusting the volume layers.

Ruby rolled her eyes slightly at the teasing nickname but didn’t comment.

For the next hours, the tent was filled with the sound of rapid clicking, playback reels, and occasional murmured discussions.

Vera was highly precise, catching small inconsistencies that would have been annoying on a big screen. "The lighting in this shot is inconsistent—should I fix it?" she asked, already opening the adjustment correction panel.

"Yes. Make sure it matches the previous scene," Ruby responded without hesitation.

Celeste, meanwhile, was having fun tweaking the audio. "Wow, this actor’s breathing is so loud," she laughed as she adjusted the sound levels. "He sounds like he’s been running a marathon."

Ruby smiled. "Lower it, but don’t mute it completely. It needs to sound natural."

Celeste gave her a thumbs-up and continued.

Ruby didn’t know the movie script well, so she couldn’t arrange the clips in the right order. But luckily, Vera did

So, instead of struggling with it herself, she let Vera handle that task.

Meanwhile, Ruby focused on what she was best at—enhancing the visuals.

She started adding effects, balancing the lighting, and refining the details. Most of her work revolved around color grading and VFX, ensuring that each scene looked perfect and visually appealing.

The raw footage had inconsistencies in color tones, so she carefully adjusted each frame to maintain a consistent mood. Some shots needed warmer tones, while others required a cooler, sharper look.

At the same time, she worked on small VFX enhancements, fixing minor glitches and smoothing out imperfections in the background.

With Vera handling the clip arrangement and Ruby fine-tuning the visuals, their workflow became more efficient.

Celeste, on the other hand, continued to balance the audio, adjusting dialogue clarity and making sure that background sounds didn’t overpower the actors’ voices.
