My five ghostly husbands Chapter 202

After her chat with Sylvia and a few polite introductions to others on set, Ruby returned to her company.

She spent the rest of the afternoon in her office, finalizing designs, reviewing orders, and checking in with Rowan and Eilas. The soft rhythm of work filled her space again—comfortable, familiar.

And just like that...

She walked home under the setting sun, her body tired, but her heart calm.

The next morning, excitement buzzed in her chest.

They were finally going to pick up the car.

She hadn’t realized how much she’d missed the idea of having one...freedom, movement, safety, especially with the rainy season approaching.

Ruby rose early, tied her hair back with a smooth ribbon, and slipped into one of her newest robe designs—simple, clean, and elegant.

She called her husbands one by one.

"Wake up," she whispered at each of their doors. "We have a car to claim."

Milo, still tangled in his blanket, sat up with a gasp. "I thought that was tomorrow..."

Julian blinked awake, rubbing his eyes.

Karl jumped out of bed dramatically. "I knew today felt like a celebration!"

Adrian was already awake, combing his hair in perfect silence.

By mid-morning, Ruby had taken all four of them into the city, her hand resting on the bag that held the documents.

Finding a hotel in the city turned out to be more trouble than Ruby expected.

Most were already booked...some with big events, some with travel groups and the few that had vacancies only offered one-bedroom rooms, which wasn’t enough.

She sighed, hands on her waist as she stared at the city map again.

She didn’t want them all crammed together, but she didn’t like the idea of them being far away either. Something about it made her uneasy—like a tight knot in her stomach that refused to loosen.

Still, she finally settled on a safe, clean hotel tucked near the main market square. It wasn’t fancy, but it was decent and the three rooms they offered were at least close together, in the same hallway.

She booked all three without a second thought.

Her mind whispered again: Stay close. Something’s coming...

But she brushed it off.

Because today wasn’t about fear.

It was about victory.

Later that afternoon, Ruby stood inside the car showroom, dressed in a dark robe with silver embroidery. Her hair was pinned back neatly, and her red eyes gleamed with quiet strength.

She signed the final documents smoothly, her tone calm as the manager handed her the keys with both hands.

"Congratulations, Miss Ruby," She said with a respectful smile. "Everything has been processed. The accessories you ordered have also been added."

Ruby nodded. "Thank you."

Everyone in the showroom clapped politely as the new vehicle was wheeled out in sky.

A sleek, elegant model. Black body with dark chrome touches. Five-seater.

Ruby took the wheel herself.

Milo sat in the front seat, his face glowing with excitement as he clutched the side of the seat and kicked his legs lightly.

"Wife’s driving!" he whispered to himself, eyes wide with joy. She’s really driving us home... like a real family.

Behind them, Julian sat by the window, his fingers tracing faint shapes on the glass. His mind wasn’t on the roads or the buildings passing by.

The words still felt surreal. His heart swelled quietly as he rested his head back and smiled.

She’s strong, she’s successful... and she’s mine. He blushed slightly.

Maybe... maybe one day we’ll have a few kids too...

He covered his cheeks with his hand.

Adrian, who sat beside him, stared straight ahead, arms folded quietly.

But his thoughts were loud.

He never imagined this life.

And a witch—no, a wife—who no longer drank away her pain, but built empires out of it.

He didn’t say a word, but his hand lightly touched the seat beneath him as if making sure it was real.

And Karl leaned against the window like a noble prince.

He grinned smugly to himself.

Every time I go to the market now... everyone looks at me.

They say "Isn’t that Ruby’s husband?" They greet me with respect. They nod. They smile.

Some witches even tried to flirt But he waved them off.

Because no matter how many turned their heads, he only ever looked at one.

His beautiful, terrifying, annoyingly smart wife.

Before they left the hotel, Ruby asked the receptionist about places worth visiting nearby and picked one that felt right—a beach not too far from the city, rarely crowded but breathtaking according to locals.

On the way there, she stopped by a small shop to grab some snacks, cold water bottles, and a few light towels, stuffing everything into a woven bag and handing the boys their favorite treats.

None of them had ever seen a beach before.

Their excitement was loud and real. Milo was practically bouncing in the front seat, his face pressed against the glass.

Julian kept peeking out the window like a child seeing a fairy tale come to life.

Karl kept asking, "Are we there yet?" every three minutes.

And Adrian, though quiet, had a faint gleam in his eyes Ruby had never seen before.

When they arrived, Ruby parked the car at the edge of the trail, the sea breeze immediately kissing their faces.

She stepped out and bought tickets for all five of them, speaking politely to the ghost at the counter.

Then they walked together—past the entrance sign, down the short stone path until it opened up to a view that made even Ruby pause.

The beach was massive... and unlike anything she had ever seen.

The red ocean beyond was still and wide, glowing faintly under the clear sky.

But it wasn’t just the beach.

The trees lining the far end were strange..twisted black trunks with thick branches, and the leaves...they were purple and pink, swaying gently like satin ribbons in slow motion.

And completely unforgettable.

Ruby’s eyes widened slowly.

"...Wow," she whispered.

Behind her, her husbands were silent too.

Even Karl, who always had something to say, stared with wide eyes.

It was like stepping into another world.

And for a moment everything was quiet.
