But if you guys choose the same major as me, I’ll forever be the fourth wheel, forget it, pick whatever you want, just don’t choose the same as me, I’m really afraid of you guys."
"Why do you say that?"
The four of them fussed around together, and after they were done, they lay on their assigned beds. Jian Dan laughed, "Let’s rest, it will be over soon, isn’t that great?"
For two days straight, the college entrance exam finished amid tension. Qin Jiu walked out of the exam room on the second afternoon and saw Bo Qin outside the gate. He was sitting in the car, hadn’t gotten out, but the rolled-down window still revealed his resolute jawline.
There were quite a few people coming and going around, and many looked at him. Even with sunglasses, it was clear he was a good-looking man.
With no other choice, Jian Dan walked over, opened the car door, and got in. The driver in the front handed her a phone, "Young Miss, your phone."
Jian Dan took it and said thank you, then sent messages to the other three, "I’m heading home for some sleep, let’s meet up a day later."
She soon received responses from all three.
The car drove towards the villa, Bo Qin said nothing, and the atmosphere was strange. Jian Dan naturally didn’t speak first. Finally, Bo Qin took off his sunglasses, glanced sideways at the quiet girl sitting beside him, and asked, "How did the exam go? Are you satisfied?"
Jian Dan didn’t say she was satisfied, nor did she say she was unsatisfied, she just replied perfunctorily, "It was okay."
Bo Qin raised an eyebrow, "Jianjian, the way you’re talking to me now is just like a sulking child. I admit, I didn’t pay you enough attention in the past two years, but it’s been a while, can’t you stop being angry?"
Jian Dan smiled slightly, a bit disappointed inside, "Uncle Qin, then why did you always avoid me? I know you might have noticed something and made such a choice, and I can’t say you were wrong, nor can I say how you were wrong, but your way of handling it was really a bit hurtful.
During that time, I hoped every week you could have a meal with me, even if you noticed something, you could have explained it clearly to me, and I wouldn’t have been so upset, but you chose the coldest method."
"Sorry, I am this much older than you, yet still not as sensible."
Jian Dan frowned, "Uncle Qin, are you mocking me?"
Bo Qin chuckled, "What are you thinking? I really do think my handling back then was problematic. It’s natural for you to blame me. I imposed my way on you, but you have the right to choose how you want to handle things."
Jian Dan nodded, "Then moving forward, when I choose my school and fill out my preferences, Uncle Qin, you don’t need to get involved."
Bo Qin frowned, "I hope you stay in the capital, so it’s convenient to take care of you."
"No need, I don’t want to."
Jian Dan rejected without hesitation, and Bo Qin’s brow furrowed tighter, "Jianjian, I hope you think it through carefully."
Jian Dan nodded, "I’ve thought it through for a long time before making this decision. Initially, I did want to apply to a school in the capital, but later, on a professional level, I felt it wasn’t suitable, so I decided to apply to other schools. This decision is my own idea, and has nothing to do with what Uncle Qin did before."
"Do you think I’ll believe what you’re saying?"
"Whether you believe it or not, it doesn’t matter, I’ve made up my mind. It’s my life, and I should have the right to make a choice once, right?"
The atmosphere was unbearably tense, and the driver didn’t even dare to breathe loudly. When these two had last ridden in his car together, it was over two years ago, and they got along harmoniously then, but now, it feels like there’s a tense, explosive air.
The driver drove quietly, trying to minimize his presence.
Bo Qin took a deep breath, "Jianjian, I hope you’ll consider it more carefully."
Jian Dan didn’t respond, her attitude was very clear, she didn’t need to reconsider, she just wanted to go to a different city for university, and this matter was non-negotiable.
