My Garbage Collecting Cheat-Skill in Survival Game Chapter 44

As Morgan drove Ray back to the mall street where Ray was currently living, he slowed the car as they got closer.

"I think we’re at the wrong place," he asked Ray, a hint of confusion in his voice.

Ray looked at the familiar road. "No, we aren’t. I live there."

"Isn’t this place bought by the Dunkens?" Morgan questioned, his brows furrowing.

Ray nodded, a slight sigh escaping him. "Unfortunately, yes. But I have a day to move from this place."

"Oh," Morgan understood, a realization dawning on him. "Then it’s good you’re moving today."

He then added, "I’ve informed the movers; they will be here soon." With that, he drove into the mall street and stopped right in front of Ray’s apartment building.

Ray didn’t have much to pack, and Morgan helped him like a personal servant.

In Morgan’s mind, ’He lives here!’

It was hard to believe, given Ray’s obvious wealth, that he was staying in such a modest place.

As they were busy packing Ray’s important belongings, an old mini-truck pulled up beside Morgan’s Honda Civic.

Six men got out from it.

One of them was Fujima, who dialed his phone. "Hello, boss, we found them. He lives on Mall Street."

On the other end, the manager’s eyebrows shot up. "That place? Do people still live there? Weren’t they told to evacuate that place?"

Fujima nodded. "Yes, boss, but there’s a deadline, which ends tomorrow."

The manager smiled. "Today or tomorrow, who cares? Just go and tell that boy to end the deal or he’ll have nowhere to set foot in this city."

"But boss!" Fujima hesitated. "Boss, what if he’s someone from that place? Do you think he could be one of them?"

There was a moment of silence.

Then, the manager spoke, "He can’t be. Don’t worry, just warn him until we find out his background."

"Besides, I highly doubt he’s anybody important, and those tiny property dealing people are probably just using him as a tool to save their own business." He added.

"Okay, boss, as you say," Fujima replied.

Ray and Morgan were finally done with the packing when they heard a loud knock on the door.

Ray’s eyes twitched. "Who could be here?" he muttered, going to open the door.

As the door swung open, he saw a fat man chewing gum, scrutinizing Ray from head to toe. "Are you Ray?" Fujima asked.

"Did you buy the penthouse from Sunny Properties?"

Ray nodded again, wondering what these people were here for.

As he was about to speak, Fujima’s tone turned cold. "Then you better cancel that deal and bring your ass to Dunken Properties, if you want to buy any properties in this city."

"You are... Fujima?" At the same time, Morgan came to the door and recognized Fujima.

Ray heard what Fujima said and asked, "Why should I do that?"

Fujima glared at Ray. "You’re asking why?"

He looked back at his people, who chuckled. "Because what you’re doing is illegal," Fujima stated, confusing Ray.

Ray looked at Morgan, who spoke in a rush. "What illegal thing are you talking about, Fujima?" Morgan’s voice was tight with worry.

Fujima’s tone turned cold. "Your friend here," he said, gesturing to Ray, "bought property from the wrong people. That’s illegal."

He then looked at Morgan. "And Sunny Properties stealing our customer? That’s also illegal." Fujima’s eyes narrowed. "And for doing illegal things, there will be a punishment."

Morgan started sweating, fear evident on his face. Fujima’s words were clearly having an effect.

But Ray’s expression hardened, his anger simmering. He spoke in a stern tone, "I would rather be homeless than make a deal with the Dunkens."

Fujima’s eyes narrowed, a sneer twisting his lips. "Homeless, huh? Is that what you really want? We’re offering you a way out, kid. The Dunkens can make things very easy for you in this city, or very, very difficult."

"We have connections, influence... you don’t want to make an enemy of us."

Ray, however, remained unfazed. he stated, his voice calm but firm. "I’d rather sleep on the street than have any dealings with the Dunkens."

This only fuelled Fujima’s rage. His face flushed red as he reached inside his jacket, pulling out a pistol.

He was about to point it at Ray when his phone abruptly rang. The manager’s voice came through the phone, "Leave that place for now!"

Fujima froze, surprised. He lowered his gun, a shiver running down his spine as he considered their earlier discussion about Ray.

Could it be true? The thought of something eerie made his body shudder.

He shoved the gun back into his jacket. "I’m leaving now," Fujima snarled, his eyes still fixed on Ray, "but think about our offer. We Dunkens are more than just a company."

This sudden turn of events surprised both Morgan and Ray.

Morgan was at a loss, unsure how to react, while Ray, preparing for a fight for his life until Fujima seriously drawn his gun.

Yet, in an instant, a phone call changed everything, and Fujima left.

Just as Fujima’s truck pulled away, the movers arrived. The rest of the evening went smoothly, though both Ray and Morgan were still dwelling on what had just happened.

Once everything was settled in Ray’s new place, Morgan decided to take his leave.

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Morgan," Ray said, expressing his gratitude.

Morgan, however, returned the thanks. "No, it should be me thanking you."

"Fujima is a local gangster with strong ties to the manager of Dunken Properties. If you hadn’t taken a stand, we might have ended up in the hospital."

Ray shook his head, denying it wasn’t him.

Morgan, still clearly unconvinced, just said his goodbyes. "Whatever you say," he replied, not believing that it wasn’t Ray’s influence that forced Fujima to back off.

Morgan even thought that Ray might be a second-generation rich young master, living modestly for some unknown reason.

He figured the sudden call that startled Fujima was also because of Ray’s powerful background.

Meanwhile, Ray, completely unaware of his imaginary identity, decided to finally log into the game in his new place.

But before that, he had one more thing to do.
