The third was in the desert, enduring a month-long standoff with some of the world’s top marksmen, nearly out of food, until Li Chen managed to kill them, despite being shot.
In short, he had endured far graver injuries; to him, these were merely superficial.
But to Lin Yi, they were heart-wrenchingly painful.
"I’ll get some medicine for you," Lin Yi said softly, but as she was about to stand up, Li Chen grabbed her.
Lin Yi looked at Li Chen, and he gave her a slight smile, "No need for medicine, just stay with me."
Lin Yi hesitated for a moment, then hummed softly before sitting back down.
Gently caressing Lin Yi, Li Chen softly said, "Come into the tub."
Lin Yi stepped into the tub and continued to wash Li Chen’s back.
After finishing with his back, Lin Yi came to stand in front, their eyes locking comfortably. It didn’t feel awkward. Lin Yi naturally took Li Chen’s right hand and started to clean the wounds.
Watching Lin Yi earnestly cleaning his wounds, Li Chen was somewhat enlightened. Is this what marriage was like?
