Li Chen was sitting in a corner of the company, deep in thought, when suddenly the mobile phone in his pocket started ringing.
"Hmm?" Seeing the number on the phone, Li Chen was momentarily startled but quickly answered the call.
"Wan’er, how come you thought to call me?" Li Chen said with a smile as he answered the call.
"Brother Li Chen..." Upon hearing Li Chen’s voice, Ouyang Wan’er also seemed very happy.
"Brother Li Chen, I’m calling you because there’s a favor I need to ask of you," Ouyang Wan’er said after exchanging a few words with Li Chen and then getting straight to the point.
"What is it?" Li Chen asked.
"I’m currently in Jiangbei City, yes, the one next to Linchuan," Ouyang Wan’er said. "Recently, we’ve discovered some peculiar situations here, so I wanted to ask for your help."
Hearing Ouyang Wan’er’s words, Li Chen thought for a moment and understood.
Clearly, things have not been very tranquil around here recently. With their intelligence capabilities, it was natural they would discover this, so her coming over to investigate didn’t surprise Li Chen in the least.
However, Li Chen had also been planning to visit Jiangbei anyway. Since Ouyang Wan’er had invited him, he agreed to go.

"Shortly?" Ouyang Wan’er seemed surprised upon hearing Li Chen’s response, "So soon? Brother Li Chen, it’s not very urgent..."
"No problem," Li Chen chuckled when he heard the slight panic in Ouyang Wan’er’s voice, "I was planning to go to Jiangbei anyway, now it’s just on the way."
The Nether Army was highly efficient. Within ten minutes of Li Chen making the call, they had booked him a flight to Jiangbei.
That very afternoon, Li Chen arrived in Jiangbei.
Jiangbei could be considered a city that had developed quite well.
Just coming off the plane, Li Chen saw a busy scene inside the airport.
"It’s quite lively," Li Chen shook his head and smiled. Then he strode off the tarmac and into the airport terminal.
After scanning the area, Li Chen was about to call Ouyang Wan’er directly.
However, just at that moment, Li Chen felt a hand reaching towards him from behind.
"A thief?" Li Chen was somewhat surprised, not expecting to encounter a thief in a place like the airport, and especially targeting him.
On this trip to Jiangbei, Li Chen had only brought a small backpack, carrying virtually nothing else. Why would the thief target him of all people?

"What am I doing?" Li Chen smiled. "Shouldn’t I be the one asking that question? What exactly were you doing just now?"
"What’s it to you what I do?" the thief said, staring at Li Chen and struggling fiercely as the latter grasped his hand.
However, his struggles were completely futile.
Turning his head, the thief realized with some shock that Li Chen’s grip was unmovable, as if his hand wasn’t caught by a person but clamped by iron tongs.
"You... let go of me!" The thief glared savagely at Li Chen, "I didn’t even steal anything from you, why are you holding on to me ?"
Li Chen looked at the thief with a seemingly amused expression, "So according to you, if you didn’t manage to steal anything, you’re not a thief?"
Hearing Li Chen’s words, the thief’s face turned pale, but he quickly regained his brazen attitude, "Of course not! I didn’t take anything of yours, what proof do you have that I’m a thief?!"
"I’m telling you, you’d better not mess with me, otherwise, be careful, I might make it impossible for you to get by in Jiangbei City!" The thief looked at Li Chen with confidence, "Do you know who I am? I, A Dong, have connections here in Jiangbei."
"My boss is a big shot in Jiangbei, by the looks of you, you seem new here, right? If you don’t want trouble, you’d best not stir it up, otherwise, I’ll make you regret it!" A Dong said arrogantly, his complexion betraying no sign of self-awareness despite being caught by Li Chen.
The expression on Li Chen’s face became even more peculiar, and there was a hint of oddness when he looked at A Dong.
"Has the public order in Jiangbei really deteriorated to this extent?"
Looking at Li Chen, a hint of doubt started to creep into A Dong’s heart.
His words were a mix of truth and bluffs. If Li Chen really called the police, he could only expect to be arrested, which is why he said all that, trying to intimidate Li Chen.
Usually, once he scared someone like that, they would back off.
But, obviously, Li Chen was not just anyone.
"Damn it! Let go of me! Are you really looking to get yourself killed?!" After a while, seeing that Li Chen had no intention of letting go, A Dong started to get enraged, raising his other fist and swinging it toward Li Chen’s face.
He believed that this punch would surely knock Li Chen down, and then he could make his escape.
But when A Dong made his move, a smug smile appeared on Li Chen’s face.
A Dong hadn’t understood why Li Chen was smiling when, the next moment, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his arm that was held by Li Chen.
Before A Dong’s fist could even reach Li Chen’s face, he found himself kneeling down, forehead covered in sweat.
"As a thief, you’re quite a failure," Li Chen said, looking at A Dong who was now kneeling on the ground, his arm twisted out of shape. "I know you’re worried about me calling the police, but unfortunately, I really don’t like doing that. I prefer to take care of problems myself."
"You have three arms, don’t you? If one is broken, you still have two left. Eating shouldn’t be a problem, right?" Li Chen said softly with a laugh, looking at A Dong as he knelt on the ground, then turned and walked away.
His mood wasn’t very good, and if it weren’t for this guy practically asking for it, he wouldn’t have taken any drastic actions, but evidently, this person wasn’t as obedient as he had hoped.
After Li Chen had left, A Dong struggled to get up from the ground, glancing resentfully at Li Chen’s retreating figure, and sneaked off to a corner to make a phone call.
"Hello, boss, it’s A Dong. I’ve just been beaten up..."
