Han Kuang made himself comfortable on the bed while Han Shouzhen peeled an orange for him and said, "You’ll stay in this room for a couple of days. Tomorrow, I’ll get a room ready downstairs with my brother, and then you can move down."
The old man had injured his leg, and if he took a fall on the stairs again, that would be disastrous.
Han Kuang nodded; he was now especially compliant with his children.
"There’s no need for you and Shouxin to bother. Dong Fei and I can handle it," Liu Yuzhi suddenly interjected, aiming to please.

"No word." Seeing the disappointed look on Han Kuang’s face, Han Shouzhen couldn’t help but comfort him, "Brother said Shoulu is due for a promotion soon. We shouldn’t disturb him with these trifles."
How had his own father become a trifle?
Han Kuang initially felt unsatisfied, but then he perked up, "Shoulu is getting promoted? Then he must be becoming a battalion commander this time around, right? His rank will probably be at least a colonel, maybe even a major general."

Han Shouzhen didn’t argue with him but changed the subject, "What do you plan to do with Liu Yuzhi and Dong Fei? It’s not a solution to keep them locked up forever."
"I don’t know." Han Kuang was conflicted. He wished to divorce Liu Yuzhi, but he knew it was impossible. As for Han Shouyi and Dong Fei, that was even less feasible. If he got a divorce, it might cause some gossip, but if Shouyi divorced, he could kiss his research position goodbye, not to mention he had to consider his grandson.
"Let Shouyi’s family take Liu Yuzhi and leave," Han Shouzhen suggested. "Also, explain the situation to Shouyi and make her see those two women’s true faces." She had long been dissatisfied with her brother moving out while Shouyi’s family stayed at the old house, as if Han Shouyi were the true heir.
Han Shouzhen held no ill will towards her half-brother Han Shouyi, but she didn’t have any warmth for him either. Her lack of ill will was because Shouyi was a man of integrity, never compromising others for personal gain and always treating her and her brother with respect. She had no warmth because, good as he might be, he was still the son of Liu Yuzhi, standing on the opposing side.
It was precisely because of Han Shouyi’s character that Han Shouzhen wanted to reveal Liu Yuzhi and Dong Fei’s actions, as well as events from the past, to him. Even though Shouyi was old enough to remember things when he came to the Han Family, Liu Yuzhi could easily deceive him due to his naiveness. So, he had always believed Liu Yuzhi’s claim that he was not an illegitimate child.
She could imagine how Shouyi would loathe his origin and feel betrayal, hatred, and disappointment towards Liu Yuzhi and Dong Fei once he learned the truth.
Han Shouzhen firmly believed this was the greatest revenge on them.
Han Kuang had clearly understood Han Shouzhen’s intention, his eyes lighting up, "Fine, I’ll call Shouyi back right away." He might claim he didn’t care about this son, but compared to the three children of his beloved wife, Han Shouyi’s place in his heart was indeed lacking.
