My ‘Healing’ Game Chapter 281

Jin Sheng’s story had seeped into Han Fei’s body, yet he hadn’t felt any changes, no abnormalities, nor had he acquired any abilities; the story seemed to have just vanished.

"Perhaps once I enter the Death Building, Jin Sheng’s story will gradually become reality. But his story is too imprecise; I am just a Midnight Butcher, hardly related to the Devil."

With the support from Jin Sheng, Han Fei grew more confident.

He now had two major trump cards, the Spider’s amulet and Jin Sheng’s horrific story, with two Managers to assist, he felt he might make a name for himself inside the Death Building.

Leaving the office building, Han Fei found his neighbors from Happiness Residental Community in the academic building.

"Gesheng hasn’t found what it wanted and will definitely come back, this entire area is no longer safe unless we figure out a way to get rid of it." Before Han Fei could finish, Li Zai, who was considered an embodiment of disaster and misfortune, covered his mouth, not daring to speak so freely.

"Trouble comes from the mouth; you better not talk nonsense, be careful it remembers you and you face retribution," Li Zai realized Han Fei was truly bold.

Not wanting to cause trouble for the other neighbors, Han Fei switched to a more tactful tone and shared his plan.

Staying here meant certain death; under the threat of Gesheng and Butterfly, the neighbors from buildings one and two agreed to help Han Fei.

After checking on Xu Qin’s injuries and chatting with her for a bit, Han Fei gathered all the neighbors inside the Spiritual Altar of Crying.

Still not discouraged, he turned to the student and teachers of Yimin Private Academy. "Butterfly’s actions towards you, you surely haven’t forgotten? I am now preparing to head to the Death Building, if you wish for revenge, you can join me."

Under Han Fei’s persuasion, a female teacher taller than two meters and wearing a blood-red necklace, along with Zhang Guanxing, also entered the Spiritual Altar.

The cracked Spiritual Altar, solidified with glaring bloodstains, radiated extreme coldness, and to the unaware, it might seem as though Han Fei was carrying a Curse Item graded F or above.

After greeting Old Li, who was still diligently patrolling the academic building, Han Fei left the Yimin Private Academy.

To level up as quickly as possible, Han Fei didn’t miss any opportunity to trigger a quest; with the help of many neighbors, Han Fei’s methods of completing quests also became more diverse.

For instance, when a Scapegoat wanted to invite Han Fei to his house as a guest, Han Fei simply gave him the Spiritual Altar of Crying as his new home.

Another Monster, blind in both eyes, wanted to snatch Han Fei’s eyeballs; Han Fei gave it the eyeballs of the previous Scapegoat, and then invited it into the new home of the Scapegoat as well.

Everyone took what they needed, and they all got what they wanted, happy and harmonious.

As his power steadily increased, the ways Han Fei could complete quests also continuously diversified. The only regret for Han Fei was that after he leveled up to ten, the experience he could gain from G level quests became very minimal.

The previous Building Chief seemed to have no such limitations; he guessed it was because he had chosen the hardest path, so he was being targeted this way.

Previously, Han Fei had explored the streets near Beast Alley, this time he explored a different direction.

Along the shadowy corners, Han Fei, carrying the Spiritual Altar, gradually became an existence akin to an Underworld Envoy; the surviving Lonely Ghosts also remembered this figure that heralded disaster.

Gradually, the quests available to Han Fei became fewer, and the ghosts and monsters inviting him to ’play’ also vanished.

"Are there no more quests on Yimin Street? Why is this happening?" Han Fei, having played games for many years, encountered this situation for the first time because the NPCs were too intelligent and the monsters began to actively hide, making it impossible to receive quests.

Unknowingly, Han Fei reached the end of Yimin Street, and at the pitch-dark T-junction, he saw the last building of Yimin Street — Yimin Security Company.

The fire had burnt the stairs black, indicating that a severe fire had happened in this building.

"Player number 0000, please note! You have entered over ninety percent of the buildings on Yimin Street, successfully triggering the only hidden quest of Yimin Street — The Protector God of Yimin Street!"

"The Protector God of Yimin Street (F-level hidden quest): The reason this street lined with shops and bustling with crowds can prosper is due to a secret, a Protector God lives deep within the street."

"Quest requirements: After entering Yimin Security Company, every choice you make will affect the final reward."

Out of nowhere, a voice surfaced in Han Fei’s mind, and he was startled that he could still trigger a F-level task on Yimin Street.

"If I can complete this task, the experience I’ve accumulated should be enough for me to level up,"

Without much hesitation, Han Fei pushed open the main doors of Yimin Security Company while carrying the Spiritual Altar.

The door hinges screeched loudly, and after Han Fei entered, the door he had opened closed on its own.

Standing outside the building, Han Fei had seen that the security company had been burned by a large fire; the structure was pitch-black, all the windows shattered.

But, upon entering, Han Fei was taken aback to find that everything inside the building was intact, without any trace of fire damage.

He tried pushing the door he entered through, but unfortunately, it wouldn’t open anymore, and he was trapped inside.

The overhead lights flickered on and off. Han Fei could hear the sound of poor electrical connections and remained calm as he surveyed his surroundings, finally resting his gaze on the elevator.

The numbers on the display were constantly changing, quickly shifting from five to three; the elevator was descending.

Holding the Spiritual Altar, Han Fei didn’t immediately approach the elevator; instead, he walked over to the reception.

The old computer wouldn’t turn on, and nearby, the sign-in sheet was filled with red X’s.

By the time Han Fei was scouting for clues, the elevator had reached the first floor.

The silver-gray elevator doors opened outwards, revealing an empty elevator car with no one inside.

"It feels like it specifically came to greet me,"

Han Fei didn’t get into the elevator right away. Instead, he circled the lobby. After discovering that the building had no other stairs but the elevator, he returned to the front of the elevator.

Normally, if no one had gotten on, the elevator doors would close automatically, but the elevator in this building seemed broken, perpetually open like an agape mouth.

With no findings in the lobby, it seemed that the only way Han Fei could complete the task was to enter the elevator.

He slowly walked into the elevator with the Spiritual Altar and pressed the button for the second floor.

After he pressed it, the elevator door was still open, showing no sign of intending to close.

Han Fei waited for over a dozen seconds when suddenly the elevator’s internal display lit up with the red words "Overload."

But in just the blink of an eye, the red words disappeared, and the elevator doors slowly started to close.

At the moment the elevator doors shut, all the floor number buttons on the inside control panel lit up simultaneously as if countless hands were pressing them nonstop!

Standing in the corner of the elevator, Han Fei remained silent, quietly observing everything while holding the Spiritual Altar.

After what felt like a few seconds, the elevator finally started moving.

Without any warning, the elevator that Han Fei was in began plummeting downwards.

After a strong sensation of weightlessness, Han Fei looked again at the display, which now indicated that the elevator had reached the second basement level.
