My Husband, a Marshal: Conquering the Stars with My Culinary Arts Chapter 59

Mo Ying felt that the Marshal probably didn’t like her that much. Although the Marshal’s attitude towards her was merely indifferent before, why this time, when she came to the Ke Family, did his gaze become particularly cold, and somewhat...aggrieved?

Embraced by Du Xixi, who sweetly called her "Sister Mo Ying" from left to right, Mo Ying increasingly couldn’t fathom the Marshal’s attitude.

Ke Lian, who felt jealous all over, went to the study, eyes blind to it, and instructed 2569 to closely follow Du Xixi to protect her safety.

Upon seeing Mo Ying, Du Xixi no longer paid attention to Ke Lian, pulling Mo Ying toward her room, while 2569 had to jog to keep up with their pace.

"Slow down!" Mo Ying helplessly pulled Du Xixi, letting her walk at a slower pace, "Even if you’re much healthier now, you still have to think of the child!"

Mo Feng and his brothers accompanied Du Xixi to her prenatal check-up with Ke Lian; naturally, they knew that the seemingly fragile Du Xixi had indeed become healthier than during her last check-up, feeling both surprised and happy for her.

Mo Feng went home and mentioned this to Mo Ying, who kept it in her heart. Now, seeing Du Xixi so "reckless," it gave her a headache.

"I just miss you so much!" Du Xixi mischievously stuck out her tongue and hugged Mo Ying’s arm coquettishly, trying to make her let go of the matter, only for Mo Ying to flick her forehead lightly.

Mo Ying didn’t use any force, just made a gesture, so Du Xixi’s smooth forehead had no marks. They had already entered the room, and 2569 closed the door.

"It seems the Grand Marshal has been taking excellent care of you." Mo Ying patted Du Xixi’s shoulder, her gaze sweeping over the room shared by Du Xixi and Ke Lian, a satisfied smile appearing on her face.

Ke Lian and Du Xixi’s tastes, though similar, were a combination of strong and gentle; even the most similar styles, when merged, revealed slight differences.

Du Xixi’s character was gentle and considerate, blending softness and charm into the cold-toned decor, which offset Ke Lian’s "icy" style, adding a touch of human warmth to the room.

Ke Lian’s life was filled with traces of Du Xixi, even if it was just a room, Mo Ying could easily see Ke Lian’s slight indulgence for Du Xixi.

He willingly let Du Xixi blend into his life, making her a part of it, even a large part or practically all of it.

And it didn’t stop there...

Mo Ying looked at the sweetly smiling girl in front of her, her gaze slightly withdrawn. Ke Lian took excellent care of Du Xixi, which made the girl, once gentle but slightly distant, become lively.

And she... Mo Ying’s heart tightened as she recalled the sunshine-filled man she met that morning, who paid her no mind, involuntarily revealing some vulnerability. This emotion appearing on Mo Ying was undoubtedly shocking.

Du Xixi blinked and held Mo Ying’s hand: "Sister Mo Ying, what’s wrong?"

In Du Xixi’s mind, Mo Ying was always the confident woman with short hair, able to laugh heartily with 2569. For her to feel this uncomfortable and show vulnerability, it must be something significant.

Mo Ying hesitated, unsure if discussing such matters with Du Xixi was appropriate, but her eyes met Du Xixi’s caring gaze, and her slight grievances immediately expanded, pouring out.

"Xixi..." Mo Ying somewhat choked up, revealing all her thoughts and feelings to Du Xixi.

As it turns out, Mo Ying, though appearing as a typically "tough girl," still harbored a yearning for beautiful love. When she met a man who made her heart flutter, she would also dream, feel sad, and...be afraid.

The man Mo Ying liked, Du Xixi had seen before, was Bai Zhan, who came to the Ke Family with Mo Feng, the smiling man nicknamed Black Face.

Bai Zhan was older than Mo Feng but was the same age as Mo Ying, having grown up together as childhood friends. Their close relationship abruptly stopped the day Bai Zhan came of age.

That day, the Bai Family hosted a grand banquet, and as Bai Zhan’s close friends, Mo Ying and Mo Feng naturally attended. Mo Ying, then with long hair, had dressed up meticulously, aiming to dazzle the boy she had loved for years.
