Qin Liuxi frowned as she observed a faint trace of blood rising to his face. It seemed though there was a sign of blood, it was not life-threatening, so she asked, “Do you have any Copper Coins?”
Chen Pi, aware of her habit, quickly took out a few Copper Coins from his sleeve and handed them to her.
Qin Liuxi took them, casually tossed them, while her other hand was engaged in swiftly counting and making gestures. She tossed again, her fingers moving rapidly.
Chen Pi waited quietly.
After a while, Qin Liuxi put away the Copper Coins and said, “Stop the carriage. We can’t go any further.”
Without another word, Chen Pi pulled open the carriage door and shouted for a halt.
Huo Lang, who was driving the horses, came up and asked, “Little Chen Pi, what’s the matter?”
“Stop. My master says we can’t go any further.”
Huo Lang was taken aback, then said, “Wait a moment.”
He drove his horse up to Qi Qian’s carriage to report.
