Early morning, the next day.

Song Zhizhi woke up with a severe headache.

What the hell happened? She felt as if her brain no longer belonged to her.

She got up from the bed and looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings.

Holy moly! Where the hell is this?

She had no recollection of how she got here at all.

She only vaguely remembered being with Ji Baijian at a harbor last night, watching Yi Wenhan and Nie Xiaofei on a screen. She remembered asking Ji Baijian to take her to a safe resting place. So this was the place…

She looked around again, then looked down at her clothes.

Crap.

Where are her clothes? Where are her clothes? WHERE ARE HER CLOTHES?!

The door of the room was violently pushed open. Song Zhizhi instinctively wrapped her bathrobe around her tighter. When she saw who it was, the corners of her mouth curled up. “Oh, it’s you.”

Ji Baijian stared at her expressionlessly, “If you’re awake, come out!”

He then fiercely slammed the door close.

Song Zhizhi really disliked Ji Baijian’s personality. Did she owe him 20 million dollars or something? Why must he look so annoyed all the time?

She got up from bed and went to the bathroom. She saw her somewhat pale and haggard face in the mirror.

Alcohol was indeed bad for a person. She drank too much last night. She had never gotten drunk before.

She washed her face with cold water and took a look at herself. She suddenly noticed a deep bite mark on her neck. She carressed it. It was bruised and swollen. Obviously, she could not have bitten herself…

It appeared that someone looked like a gentleman on the outside but was actually an animal inside.

After Song Zhizhi was done washing up, she went to the living room.

Ji Baijian was leisurely having breakfast in front of a French window.

“What is this, Ji Baijian?” Song Zhizhi pointed to the bite mark on her neck with a smirk.

Ji Baijian sneered contemptuously and did not answer.

His expression was one of mockery.

“Ji Baijian.” Song Zhizhi asked again.

“So, not only can our dear Miss Song be reborn, she can also selectively lose her memory?” Ji Baijian asked sarcastically.

Song Zhizhi frowned.

Ji Baijian put down the cutlery, “If Miss Song doesn’t remember, then forget it.” He seemed to be done eating. He wiped his mouth and stood up, preparing to leave.

“Ji Baijian, you’re trying to run away again after having your way with me?” Song Zhizhi grabbed Ji Baijian’s arm, unwilling to let him go.

The corner of his good-looking mouth twitched. He pushed Song Zhizhi’s hand away and said in a cold voice, “Don’t you know that I’m impotent, Miss Song? You said only an idiot would marry someone like me, remember?”

Song Zhizhi was speechless.

What a vindictive man. He still remembered something that Nie Xiaofei had only mentioned once. But more importantly, rather than losing his temper, he chose to just make sarcastic remarks from time to time.

Song Zhizhi said, “Didn’t I tell you that my brain’s fixed now?”

Ji Baijian tutted and said indifferently, “Last night, Miss Song tried to… But I’m not a filthy casual.”

Well, that was disappointing. She had even gotten a little excited.

She sat down at the table feeling rather disappointed, but when she saw an extra set of breakfast on the table that was obviously prepared for her, her mood suddenly got a lot better.

Song Zhizhi ate her breakfast while enjoying the warmth of Jin City’s sunshine.

Ji Baijian went back to his room to change out of his pajamas. He came out in a casual white shirt and a pair of casual khaki pants. The clothes were not too formal but not overly casual either. They were just right on him, making him look really good.

While she was observing him from the corner of her eye, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Ji Baijian opened the front door. A nice-sounding female voice said, “Brother, you’re actually asking me to bring you women’s clothes? You’ve always valued your body more than your life. Have you had a change of heart?”

The moment she finished saying that, her eyes fell on Song Zhizhi who was having breakfast in the dining room.

Song Zhizhi had also seen her. Ji Baixin, Ji Baijian’s half-sister, twin sister to Ji Baili. She was two years younger than Ji Baijian and the same age as Song Zhizhi.

The two women look at one another, both sizing the other up.

A moment passed.

It appeared that Ji Baixin was not a particularly gossipy person. She shifted her gaze back to Ji Baijian, handed something to him, and said, “If that’s all you need, I’m leaving now. Everything you want is inside.”

“Okay,” Ji Baixia nodded.

Ji Baixin left.

Song Zhizhi frowned looking at Ji Baixin’s back. Although Ji Baijian and Ji Baixin did not talk much, she got the feeling that they actually had a rather decent relationship.

Ji Baijian took out a black flash drive from the shopping bag, then threw the bag to Song Zhizhi. “Go change.”

Song Zhizhi looked inside. The bag contained clothes. She did not ask any question and just went and got changed.

The white dress was just the right size for her and fitted her perfectly. Not only that, even the size of the bra was right! Had he really not done anything to her?

She walked back out to the living room. Ji Baijian had taken out a laptop and had plugged the flash drive inside. He seemed to be watching a video. When he saw Song Zhizhi walking over, he closed the laptop lid.

“Why can’t I see it?” Song Zhizhi frowned.

“Everything you asked for last night is here. I’ve already sent it to Yin Qin. When do you want the report to be published?” Ji Baijian asked, avoiding the question.

“I’ll send you a message when I get back later.”

“Okay,” Ji Baijian nodded.

Song Zhizhi could be a little stubborn sometimes. “Why can’t I see it?” she asked again.

“It’s not appropriate for children, ” Ji Baijian said bluntly.

“I’m not a child,” Song Zhizhi retorted.

“It’s not appropriate for women either,” Ji Baijian unplugged the flash drive and walked away.

Song Zhizhi was furious.

Ji Baijian paid no heed to her emotions. He said indifferently, “If there’s nothing else, you can go now.”

Song Zhizhi really dislike Ji Baijian’s freezing cold attitude.

She got up to leave, and her eyes turned sharp.. A good show was coming up next!
