Patrick took his chance to fight against a rat on his own and won but the other two didn’t.
Patricia ran out of mana before she could kill the rats and Kenji just gave up before it started.
Amon cleared the rest of the dungeon and once he got to the boss, he turned around and looked at his brother and Letty.
"Come over here. You two will be fighting this boss as a duo." he said as he took out a familiar looking pill.
It was the sewer rat’s blood essence and Aron immediately recognised it.
"Come and eat this or I’ll beat you up." Amon warned, pushing Aron to curse him under his breath before doing as he was told.
The pill went into his stomach and soon, his hands shivered as he recalled his past experience.
"Please don’t make her experience it too... I’m the one who messed up right?" he asked a she glanced at Letty with a look of worry on his face.
"Of course not." Amon said as he took out an ivory wand which looked like it was made of bone.
He looked at Letty and raised it up, "Use this wand. E rank, has a skill and also has decent durability."
Letty nodded, feeling grateful as she took the wand and looked at her boyfriend who looked like he was about to cry.
"Are you... feeling alright?" she asked, looking concerned.
Aron nodded, "Yeah..."
Saying that, he took a deep breath and walked towards the boss. It was a giant rat that was three foot tall and had wore boxing gloves, which gave it a comical and threatening look.
Letty took a look at her item and saw it’s information.
[Spiralling Mana Bullet: Ignore 100 Defence and deal 100 base damage. Damage will increase with magic stats. Consumption: 10 mana/bullet.]
’Ten mana per bullet... which means around 17 bullets.’ she thought before she raised her hand up and readied herself.
As soon as Aron pulled the rat’s aggro, Letty consumed every last bit of her mana and shot out 17 mana bullets in a quick succession.
Four of them missed but thirteen hit the rat, making it screech and punch Aron hard on the side, sending him flying towards the wall.
Amon did not interfere as he watched Letty run towards Aron and give him her wand. She then said something to him which couldn’t be heard since Amon was pretty far away.
Aron who was still lying on the ground, raised the wand up as the rat rushed towards him.
"Mikey, save Letty." Amon said as he activated his aura, boosting his stats by 50%.
Seventeen more mana bullets shot towards the rat and this time, every single one of them hit it.
’Nice... shooting it at close range.’ Amon thought as he watched the rat turn into smoke.
Aron stood up and looked at his brother before giving the wand back to Letty.
"Good job." Amon said as he took the wand from Letty’s hands, "Work hard and buy your own wand after this. Both of you."
"Okay..." Aron said as he followed everyone out.
Once outside, Amon looked at his brother and Letty, "You two go back to the academy and attend some classes there. Complete some quests to earn points and use them on classes or items. I’ll be back in a week."
Aron didn’t ask a single question as he grabbed Letty and dragged her away. The further he was from his brother, the safer he felt.
Once the two of them were gone, Amon turned to look at the others.
"We’ll be making a temporary change to the teams." he said as he pointed at Jordan, "You’ll be coming with me to a world dungeon. Specifically, a Boss type world dungeon."
He then turned to look at Mikayla, "You’ll be taking Jordan’s place in the team. You might just be an E rank but your basics are really good and your experience with fighting monsters is higher than anyone here. Well, apart from Nyx."
"But... we don’t really know how her skills work." Patrick said with a frown as he looked at Mikayla.
"She’s a speedster. She won’t be able to compete with Jordan’s speed in killing small mobs but she’s way faster than him if you take bosses into account. Also, you must learn how to work with people you don’t know and synergise with them. You never know when your party might disband."
Patrick nodded in response while Patricia was already holding Mikayla’s hands, talking animatedly about who knows what.
Amon ignored them and looked at Jordan and Nyx, "You two will be with me. World dungeon like I said. The goal is getting Nyx some experience for levels and Jordan, you have six days to work on getting used to using both your hands."
"Yes professor."
"Good. If you do well, I might gift you something good." Amon said before he looked at Patrick, "Feel free to go to any dungeons you want. Though, go and grab Alicia first so I don’t get into trouble for abandoning you guys."
Saying that, Amon left with Nyx and Jordan.
Twelve minutes later, he stopped in front of a huge portal that was several times bigger than regular dungeon portals.
"A C ranked Boss dungeon. The boss is going to be a C+ rank while the mobs are going to be around D rank. I’ll take care of the boss." Amon said confidently as he stood in front of the gate and opened up the market.
"Let me just buy some stuff before going in..." he muttered as he used his system’s help once again.
His belt, tooth and inventory filled up with random items while Nyx equipped herself with some high quality equipment.
With two hundred thousand coins remaining, Amon bought an A ranked armor set for Jordan.
"Put this on. Since you’ll be training, you’ll need a lot of tankiness. The goal isnt’ to kill a lot of monsters but to get used to a new fighting style. Got it?"
"Yes professor." Jordan said as he put on his new armor and walked into the portal.
