Alicia guided Amon towards the headmaster’s office while Patrick and his team headed back to their rooms.
"We don’t really need mercenaries and extras to join our party but we still do it since it’s a good way of finding talents. There are people who do not have the luxury of being able to join the academy through the regular process so if we find anyone with good talents, we give them a scholarship or in a very rare occasion, offer them a job." Alicia said as she walked along the corridor.
Amon nodded slowly, "That’s a good strategy but isn’t it better to just announce a test where people with high scores can get scholarships?"
"We do that already. The only problem is that the tests are both written and practical and on top of that, most people don’t really think that they’ll be able to do well so they opt for other options like doing dungeon runs for money." she said as she stopped in front of a door.
Before she could even knock on the door, they heard a voice.
"Come in."
Alicia led them in and Amon once again came upon a familiar face. Zhou Qingyan, the academy’s headmaster.
’A cultivator.... a class that completely changes how mana works.’ Amon thought as he stood in front of the headmaster.
He looked young, had feminine features and gave off a gentle aura that seemed to be able calm people down very effectively.
"So, Amon." Qingyan said as he looked up at the group and smiled, "Elena, the elven princess and then there’s also an old friend... I wouldn’t say that I’m not happy with today’s turn of events."
Mona chuckled before she shook her head, "Stop acting all wise, you little pervert. I still remember everything you did when you were a youngling."

Amon turned to look at his brother, Letty and Mikayla, "Three students."
"Okay, they’ll receive full scholarship."
"I’ll obviously work as a professor but I’ll take in a few students." Amon said with a nod before pointing at Nyx, "She’ll be my assistant if that’s possible."
Qingyan nodded, "Possible. As long as she doesn’t lose control and hurt people."
"I’ll take responsibility for that." Amon said before he looked at Elena and Mona, "As for them, I’ll leave the decision making to them."
Qingyan turned to look at the two women with a smile.
"I’ll work as an assistant. I have no interest in teaching." Mona said as she walked away from the group and sat down on a couch that was placed on the far left corner of the room like it was her own place.
Qingyan didn’t seem to mind as he focused his gaze on Elena, "And what about you, miss Elena?"
"I... want to be with Amon... but I feel like it’s better if I work as a specialist professor. Maybe teaching students might help me learn faster. Pill making under the consumables department." Elena said as she glanced at Amon, who gave her an encouraging nod.
"I’ll be her assistant then. I’ll keep the idiot boys away from her." Mona said from the side as she grabbed a magazine from the table beside the couch and began flipping through them.
Qingyan smiled and nodded, "We can arrange for everything. Now, let’s discuss your pay, shall we?"
"Subject oriented professors get 100 points a week but you can also earn money by charging for your lessons so the kids will be paying you extra." he said as he looked at Elena before turning to Amon, "Personal professors do not have that option unfortunately, but you can sell the loot from dungeons and keep the money for yourself.
"A lot of professors keep fifty percent of the loot and split the rest among the students but you could technically keep everything or split everything. Alicia is the only one who splits everything between her students. Right, your pay will also be 100 points a week."
Amon nodded, "One point is 10 coins so the pay is 1000 coins. Considering that I’ll be getting free accommodation, security, food and access to equipment that isn’t available in the market.... I guess I can’t say no. What I need right now is stability for me and my girls to get strong."

"These identification cards will give you access to various facilities. Of course, professors have the highest clearance with their assistants coming second. Students have the lowest clearance. Professors will also be able to get huge discounts on multiple things so make sure you use it well."
"We will." Amon said before bowing slightly, "Thank you for giving us a place. I’ll make sure you don’t regret your decision."
Qingyan nodded, "I’ll look forward to it. Oh yes, there’s something I must tell you. We have a Cross Academy tournament in a week and I hope you’ll participate in it. The professors and students can challenge each other in a one on one duel and there will also be some survival events. The budget has been pretty high this year so the prices are really good."
"We’ll work towards it." Amon said but he wasn’t really interested in the tournament.
"Alright, you guys can leave. Alicia will guide you to your quarters."
The group walked out and once they were out of Qingyan’s sights, Amon turned to look at his brother who was staring at his ID card intently.
Alicia on the other hand, glanced at Mikayla who looked pretty down in mood and chuckled, "You don’t have to worry about Amon. We do not have rules against professors and students dating as long as they’re adults. In fact, you can live with him under the same roof and no one will say a word."
Mikayla’s mood instantly lifted up as she gave Alicia a wry smile, "I... see... well, let’s go."
