It seems that there was concern that in a couple of days, when everything had settled down, it wouldn't be good to bring up the matter again. This is why they're striking while the iron is hot, seizing the opportunity to take action against the Emergency Department.
"I was actually off today. I just got back from a training session."
After greeting Director Lou and Director Xin, Vice Director Ye immediately got down to business.
"We've specifically held a meeting on surgical safety just recently, yet our Emergency Department Operating Room is really testing me!"
Without pounding the table or flying into a rage, but merely saying he's being tested indicates that the issue isn't too serious.
"Mr. Zhong, has the investigation into the incident been completed?"
Vice Director Ye looked towards Zhong Hui.
"It has been thoroughly investigated. The cause of the accident in the Emergency Department Operating Room yesterday was due to surgical nurse Tian Tian chatting casually with others during the surgery, neglecting her duties, and mistaking Isoprenaline for the anesthetic Dikain while preparing the topical anesthetic, ultimately leading to the patient experiencing dangerous symptoms such as increased bleeding from the wound, headaches, chest pains, and shortness of breath."
Zhong Hui's work was quite detailed.
"This incident reveals multiple oversights in the safety management procedures of the Emergency Department Operating Room. Casual chatting during surgery and senior doctors not stopping it on time is one of them. The error in anesthetic preparation by the nurse going unnoticed and lacking supervision is another. The investigation also revealed a more serious issue. The attending surgeon of the operating room, Xu Chen, had privately allowed the standardized training resident Zhou Can to be involved in the important steps of a Level 2 surgery."
This was listing the charges against them.
After hearing this, Vice Director Ye looked at Zhou Can with some surprise.
If he remembered correctly, this young man named Zhou Can had just become a resident in standardized training this year, right?
He was only trained for a little over a month, and he could already complete important steps of a Level 2 surgery?
He found it a bit hard to believe.
As for the first two charges listed by Zhong Hui, they were minor issues; a few words of caution and future attentiveness would suffice.
As a medical Vice Director, he was also aware of the challenges in the Emergency Department.
Being a senior leader usually entails leniency towards subordinates. Being too stringent can only lead to discontent and disloyalty.
Proper guidance is sufficient.
"Dr. Xu, you are essentially in charge of managing the Emergency Department Operating Room. Regarding chatting among nurses and doctors during surgery, you need to regulate that; this can't be allowed to continue. Vice Director Ye seemed to have a deep understanding of the Emergency Department's situation.
He was even aware of the fact that Dr. Xu oversaw the operating room.
And his attitude towards Dr. Xu was very polite.
Mr. Zhong, standing aside, was getting anxious. He had gone to great lengths believing that he would at least give the Emergency Department Operating Room a good shake-up, yet now with Vice Director Ye's amiable demeanor, how could they proceed with further discussions!

Dr. Xu made a solemn commitment.

"Nothing much, just some skin stitching and the like."
Dr. Xu was an old hand and wouldn't let his guard down just because of Vice Director Ye's friendly demeanor.
He spoke with extreme caution.
