Shangguan Ning asked softly, “I stabbed her twice and crushed her fingers. Do you find me vicious?”
Jing Yichen gave her an indulgent smile and said, “Oh, my dearest, you have not seen how I behave. If you had, you would have found your own behaviour extremely gentle in comparison. Maybe next time, I can teach you how to make people suffer. We can do anything with Yang Wenshu, otherwise the gunshot which I received would be a waste.”
Shangguan Ning thought of the time when Yang Wenshu had asked Family Yang to hire the killer and Jing Yichen stepped up to take the bullet for her. Suddenly, she felt both happy and sad at the same time.
Her hand went searching for the scar that remained on his chest through the thin shirt.
Shangguan Ning’s hands were warm and provocative against his chest, making Jing Yichen go hard.

Shangguan Ning had a weird look on her face as she pinched hard at his waist. Embarrassed, she said furiously, “Can’t you just be normal? How can we… not have a child because you want… that! So ridiculous!”
Before they got married, she had thought that Jing Yichen was really like what Zhao Anan had said – smart and intelligent, capable and steady, rational and mature.
But it was not until after marrying him did she realize that this distant and cold man could be even more childish and irrational than even she was.
Shangguan Ning said with a wrinkled nose, “I like children. A family is only complete with children. Stop being silly!”
Jing Yichen had a simple way not to get her pregnant – as long as he didn’t eat the pills Mu Qing gave him, it was the safest of all preventive methods.
“But you must promise that after the child is born, you will love me as always. You wouldn’t ignore me because of the baby! I will continue to be No.1 in your heart!”
No one would have expected that a guy as perfect as Jing Yichen could behave in such a childish manner and show this sort of insecurity. How much did he love her when he was even jealous of their unborn children.
Shangguan Ning’s heart melted completely. She held his face in her hands and started planting kisses – on his forehead, eyes, nose and his perfectly shaped lips. She totally forgot about Tiger who was driving the car.
“Yichen, no one is more important than you in my heart. Our child will have his own life, his partner and he will eventually leave us when he grows up. Only you will always be by my side and you will always be my No.1 and I will continue to love you like I do now!”
Shangguan Ning was a shy girl, but she never concealed her affection because of her nature when it came to important moments. If Jing Yichen didn’t feel secure, she would always console him telling him how important he was in her heart.
She loved this man deeply and telling him how she felt was natural.
This man was willing to give her everything and she didn’t want him to be sad. She wanted to tell him not to worry and that she loved him very, very much.
Happiness arose in Jing Yichen’s eyes. That was what he liked about his wife – she was frank about everything instead of him having to guess what she was thinking.
Men and women were different in their thought process. For men, guessing what women were thinking was a very difficult thing!
He looked deep into her eyes and instructed Tiger in a calm tone, “Drive faster!”

Three days later, Shangguan Ning brought Lu home with her after work and Jing Yichen brought Tiger alongside as well. They headed towards Shangguan Zheng’s villa, together.
Shangguan Ning felt something different about Lu that day. She was behaving like a normal adult. But this itself was an anomaly because Lu was usually so childlike in her behaviour.
She addressed Shangguan Ning as “Ms. Shangguan” rather than “Sister Shangguan”.
Shangguan Ning felt Lu’s forehead and asked in concern, “Lu, are you sick? Why do I feel… that you are a bit different today as if you have… grown up overnight.”
Lu lowered her head. She didn’t have any makeup on her face and looked like an innocent doll in daily life but at this moment, she seemed to be a doll with soul.
She was still dressed in sportswear and sneakers, it was not pink but black. She was sporting the pigtails yet she looked quite agile and capable today rather than innocent and gullible.
