Shangguan Ning reacted in panic and climbed on to the bed with her hands over her chest. She stared at Jing Yichen who was completely naked as well.
She said in an anxious tone, “Get dressed, now!”
Jing Yichen stopped teasing her, and wore his PJ. He went to get some clothes from the wardrobe for Shangguan Ning, placed them onto the bed before getting the clothes for himself.
After getting ready, the couple went to the dining room for breakfast. Sister Lan placed the breakfast quickly, at the sight of them.
As Shangguan Ning sat down at the dining table, she couldn’t help but get startled looking at the tremendously changed breakfast menu.
It was simply too luxurious to… have more than a dozen dishes spread on the table.
She turned around to the man next to her.
“I selected the dishes myself. They are full of nutrients and harmless to the child. Just eat.”
Jing Yichen served her a bowl of soup while saying so.
Shangguan Ning rolled her eyes in frustration. That was not what she was worried about.
“This is too much. We can’t finish them. It is such a waste! Don’t get so much prepared any more. Four dishes are enough already. Let’s just eat like we did before!”
“Don’t worry about wasting. Eat as much as you can. Just pick the ones you like. Hurry up, they may get cold.”
Jing Yichen looked unfazed. Apparently he had not taken in a single word that Shangguan Ning said. The breakfast would be the same the following day.
Shangguan Ning shook her head helplessly and finally gave in.
Maybe it was because of the variety, but Shangguan Ning ate relatively more that morning. She usually didn’t have an appetite for breakfast.
Jing Yichen also noticed that she had eaten well. He smiled and felt that it had been the right decision to get all this prepared.
Shangguan Ning was eating for two at the moment so she needed to take in more nutrients. Otherwise she and the baby would be affected.
He was rich enough to afford everything. What was the point of being a miser? As long as Shangguan Ning got happy and was satisfied about the food.
After breakfast, Jing Yichen took Shangguan Ning to Family Mu’s Hospital.
Although Mu Wensheng had felt the pulse for Shangguan Ning and confirmed that all was fine with her, he had also proposed that Shangguan Ning should get a comprehensive pregnancy examination with the latest equipment at the Mu hospital.
Jing Yichen had already told Mu Qing about it yesterday. They went to his office straight away.
Mu Qing greeted them happily. It had been him who cured Jing Yichen. So it was as much his achievement when the lady got pregnant.
“Congratulations, Master Jing and Sister-in-law. This is great news. I got so excited after receiving your call yesterday that I couldn’t sleep the entire night.”
Mu Qing hair was well-trimmed and he was dressed in immaculate clothes. Sun’s rays penetrated through the window and cast a reflection on his face. He looked fresh and radiant totally unlike someone who had had a sleepless night!
Jing Yichen was used to the way he talked. So he had no expressions on his face. But Shangguan Ning was feeling grateful. With a smile, she said, “Sorry to trouble you again, Doctor Mu!”
“No trouble at all. I am glad to be at the service of a beautiful lady!” Mu Qing was feeling a bit over excited and used his often employed phrase on her which he said to all his other female patients.
Jing Yichen’s freezing look swept over him immediately and he had to change his words in fright. “I am glad to be at the service of the Lady! I am your servant at all times.”
Shangguan Ning burst into laughter after hearing how Mu Qing addressed her.
Mu Qing was like Zhao Anan in every way. He was someone who could talk, joke and laugh happily.
Keeping his face neutral, Jing Yichen put a hand on her waist and helped Shangguan Ning sit down on a chair.
Mu Qing seriously thought that Jing Yichen suffered from personality disorder when he saw how differently Jing Yichen treated him and Shangguan Ning.
He was treating others like a frozen iceberg. How could he become so gentle and sweet with in an instant when it came to Shangguan Ning?
Just look at him, behaving as if Shangguan Ning was the apple of his eye. Jing Yichen was worried that she would run into or bump into something. He would not have moved his eyes off Shangguan Ning if Mu had not said those words to her.
Man, what a huge difference in behaviour! He had saved Jing Yichen so many times but had almost been killed by his glare just now because he addressed Shangguan Ning as “a beautiful lady!”
Why was he positioned so low in the eyes of Jing Yichen and Zhao Anan? They did not treat him nicely at all. What had he done in his previous life that he had to pay back the debt in this birth?
Lucky that Shangguan Ning treated him in a friendly manner.
Shangguan Ning trusted Mu Qing and Grandpa Mu deeply. She considered them as top-notch doctors and felt that it was great to be friends with Mu Qing who was an excellent doctor.
Therefore, she was even more certain that she would place Zhao Anan on Mu Qing’s side, no matter whether Zhao Anan wanted it or not.
If she could be part of Family Mu, then she would be a cat with nine lives – very difficult to die!
But where was Zhao Anan today? She was always next to Mu Qing, wasn’t she?
She was no longer trapped. But was Mu Qing not worried that she would run away?
“Doctor Mu, where is Anan?”
Mu Qing was about to say something when the door of the office was banged open. Zhao Anan came in with unkempt hair and creased clothes.
She spread her hands in front of Mu Qing with drowsy eyes. “Give me the keys. I want to go home and sleep.”
She was asking Mu Qing for the keys to his apartment which was located next door. During the past few days, Mu Qing had taken Zhao Anan to his own home.
Shangguan Ning’s widened and said in surprise. “Anan, what is wrong with you? Why are you…”
She looked as if she had been punched by someone. Her hair was unkempt, clothes untidy. She looked like a mess.
Zhao Anan turned to look absently at Shangguan Ning and then noticed that it was her best friend who stood in front of her.
She yawned, and said in a hoarse voice, “Oh, my Beauty. Why are you here again? Are you sick?”
She looked slightly better at the sight of Shangguan Ning. But was still very drowsy.
Jing Yichen frowned at the sight of her messy look and got upset when he heard her asking if Shangguan Ning was sick again. He spoke in his cold voice, unhappily, “Ning is fine. She is here for the pregnancy examination. She is pregnant.”
Zhao Anan got startled after hearing what he said. Her sleepiness vanished instantly.
