"Don't slander my beloved snacks like that, okay? How can this disgusting thing compare to scorched rice?" An Qi argued, scolding him.
"Sometimes, you only know the truth after you've tried it." Having said that, Lin Yifan walked over to An Qi with a skewer of bee pupae, waggled it in front of her eyes, and then asked in a soft voice, "Do you want to try one?"
"I won't eat! I'd rather die than eat!" An Qi was utterly resolute and refused to give in.
"Hmph! Playing hard to get, I see. Let's see how long you can hold out." After saying that, Lin Yifan sat down with a plop and began to crunch away.
"Mmm! Crunchy and refreshing, sweet and savory—a true delicacy of this world."
"If you're going to eat, could you go further away?" An Qi was somewhat annoyed, feeling that Lin Yifan was doing this on purpose to tease her.
Besides that, she was irritated because smelling the delicious aroma and hearing the crunchy chewing made her gulp down saliva.
Although she had eaten some honey earlier, she was still not full, so she was still a bit hungry; thus, the scent made it difficult for her, as her inner turmoil continued.
"No way! I want to watch the sunset together with my treasure!" Lin Yifan answered.
"If you're going to watch the sunset, just watch quietly. Don't eat and make noises," An Qi said, looking visibly annoyed.
"Who says you can't eat and make noises while watching the sunset?" Lin Yifan retorted.
"I do, your treasure. Are you going to abide by this rule?" An Qi asked in anger.
"Okay! I'll abide by the rule!" Having said that, Lin Yifan took his skewer of bee pupae, leaned next to An Qi, and then quietly admired the sunset at the end of the horizon.
However, his actions made An Qi even more uncomfortable; the delicious barbecue aroma lingered around her and refused to dissipate.
Smelling the delicious scent and staring at the glittering golden bee pupae, An Qi couldn't help but swallow saliva; then, she burst out in anger, "Can you just throw away your skewer of bee pupae?"
"Why?" Lin Yifan asked, feigning ignorance.
"With that disgusting thing here, I can't settle down to watch the sunset," An Qi answered.
"Disgusting thing? I think it's delicious," Lin Yifan mocked.
"It's disgusting, toss it away!" An Qi pouted.
But just as she finished speaking, her stomach grumbled, clearly longing to taste it.
"You see, even your stomach is betraying you, what else do you have to say?" Lin Yifan chuckled.
"I'll ask you one more time, still not throwing it out?" An Qi didn't answer Lin Yifan's question, but rather asked somewhat angrily and embarrassed.
"I'm afraid if I throw it away, you won't have any delicious food later," Lin Yifan replied.
"Even if I drink coconut water and scrape out coconut meat, I won't eat that thing," An Qi responded.
"Don't be so stubborn, you'll only be hurting yourself in the end," Lin Yifan persuaded.
"So what if I suffer a loss, I'd rather starve than eat that disgusting thing." After saying this, An Qi couldn't help but swallow her saliva again.

However, just as she finished speaking, her stomach growled again, and her sharpness deflated instantaneously.

A crisp sound exploded in her mouth, and when she thought her teeth would be coated with a thick, disgusting white fluid the next moment, something substantial appeared in her mouth instead; she tried chewing and found that this substantial piece was somewhat like roasted meat, a bit chewy.
"Hmm? Not bad at all!" An Qi's eyes widened in surprise and she exclaimed.
"How about it? Doesn't it taste a bit like KFC's fried chicken?" Lin Yifan curiously asked.
