The City Lord slapped the table in anger, "Do they really think our Yunlan City is a soft persimmon, to be kneaded at will? Go and ask Array Master Jin to come over." He wanted to reinforce the arrays of Yunlan City; he would make sure those Demon Beasts had no chance of return.
"Yes!" Housekeeper Liu acknowledged and then turned to walk out of the study.
The City Lord sat in his chair with an ugly expression on his face. Hearing footsteps outside, he looked up to see Xiao Xun approaching, "What is it?" Xiao Xun was his most highly regarded son, and he understood his temperament well. Without important matters, he would not come to seek him out.
"Father! Xiao Shuo has been seriously injured, and even the doctors are at a loss." Xiao Xun, thinking of the three people who had injured Xiao Shuo, clenched his teeth. After Xiao Shuo was saved, he would exterminate those three. If anything irreversible happened to Xiao Shuo, he would subject those three to Soul Extraction.
"What happened?" The City Lord asked with a slight shock in his voice. Although he didn’t value Xiao Shuo as much as Xiao Xun, he was still his son and would naturally feel pained by his injury.
Xiao Xun recounted the incident.
"Bring those three here!" The City Lord commanded toward the door. He wanted to see who dared to be so audacious.
Soon, Song Yan Ning and her companions were brought before him.
The City Lord sized up Song Yan Ning and the others, "Was it you who injured my son?"
"Yes!" Song Yan Ning and her colleagues nodded in admission.
The City Lord raised an eyebrow; he didn’t expect them to admit it so readily, "Did my son have a feud with you?"
The City Lord’s face darkened, "Then why did you hurt him?"
"Your son rode a Demon Beast into someone, don’t you think we should discipline him?" Qin Yushen asked in a deep voice.
"Even if that happened, you shouldn’t have hurt him," the City Lord responded coldly. It was his place to discipline his son, not someone else’s.
"We’re already being kind by not killing him," Song Yan Ning said mockingly, looking at the City Lord.
Anger churned in the City Lord’s heart, but thinking of other pressing matters, he had to suppress his fury, "Take them down and lock them up."
Four guards entered, intending to take Song Yan Ning and her associates away.
Qin Yushen had already sent the four guards flying with a push. They had come to gauge the City Lord’s attitude, and now that they knew it, there was no need to hold back any longer.
"You’ve got some nerve!" The City Lord bellowed, about to join Xiao Xun in attacking. They had never encountered such arrogant people before.
Just then, Housekeeper Liu arrived with Array Master Jin.

"Greetings, City Lord!" Array Master Jin stepped forward to pay his respects.
The City Lord shifted his angry gaze to Array Master Jin, "Array Master Jin, Housekeeper Liu has informed you of the matter, right?" Once this was dealt with, he would turn his attention back to dealing with Song Yan Ning and her companions.
Array Master Jin nodded, "Yes."
"Then the task of reinforcing the defensive formation is entrusted to you," the City Lord said solemnly.
"I will do my utmost to not disappoint you, City Lord," Array Master Jin promised.
